For this daily create, we needed to take the first sentence of a book and then add the text, “and then the dragons arrived.” I used the first sentence from the Harry Potter books and thought it turned out pretty good I think this picture represents the daily create today really well. This is because I took the first sentence from the Harry Potter books, and then added the text we were required to add since the franchise does deal with dragons every now and then, and the the picture that was generated was perfect. As you can see the house where Harry grew up in is similar to the one in the picture and then having the dragons fly overhead brings it all together.

Daily Create – 3/10/2024
One of the things we had to do for our daily create for today was to pick something that may go unnoticed in everyday life and I chose something as simple as a pencil because we use them so often and for me, there are a lot of times where I am in need of one and cannot find one and do not notice that there are none near me. They are taken for granted sometimes and people do not notice how often they are needed and used.
Daily Create Roundup – Week 8
Here are my daily creates for week 8!
My Crooning Oscillator
For this daily create I created a crooning oscillator. At first, I was unsure what he was saying but, after thinking about what he had to say I think he was happy. He was expressing his joy and how happy is to be alive. Take a listen for yourself and let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy!
Daily Creates Roundup: Week 7
Here are my daily creates for week 7!
This first one was a response to my own iteration of the “castle on the hill”. It is a very different from a traditional castle, but it was fitting from my point of view.
The next one was to share a picture that conveys joy.
I shared a picture of Jannik Sinner winning his first Grand Slam title. That first title winning feeling is definitely one filled with joy, and I immediately went to this moment to share as my daily create for the day.
The last create for this week was playing around with a Net Art generator to see what it would give me.
The keyword I used was “Space”, but I highlighted how the surface of earth looks like it’s going through a volcanic apocalypse. A little scary but maybe this was supposed to be a mashup of modern technology and prehistoric earth.
Week 7 Daily Creates
This week we had to complete three daily creates.
The first one was a picture of something pure. I was looking through my photos since I wanted it to be something of meaning for me. I came across a plate of fresh rose petals I was holding from a wedding that I had attended. In Pakistani culture, it is common to throw fresh rose petals on the opposite side when they enter.
Here is the picture I uploaded for that and the post on Mastodon!
The next one was a net art generator. Cool concept but they only allow a certain limit each day
My keyword search was hungry hippo and although I was so excited to get an image out of it, this is what I got.
Like I said I was excited for my outcome… so I generated it today!!
This was so epic, I truly loved it. For sure this generator exceeded my expectations with this art done by just four images.
My last daily create was to figure out what my triangular oscillator was saying. I came to the conclusion that it was screaming for its excitement about spring break finally starting!
Week 7 Daily Creates
Here is my list of Daily Creates from this week!
Wednesday, 2/28’s Daily Create asked,
“Share a picture, or photo, that conveys something pure. This could be a person, an object, or a moment.“
So I answered with the very obvious answer of my cat!
Her name is Cat, I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about her. She’s the purest thing I can think of, an actual blessing from above. Looking at her just makes me so happy. She’s my baby (she’s 12)!
Thursday, 2/29’s Daily Create said,
“Generate your own Net Art based on a keyword search. But is it art? Share it out anyway …. and tell us what your keyword search term was. We’re a curious tribe.”
So, I did just that! I decided to put in the prompt “cat running for president” because I had a sudden visual in my head of a cat behind the presidental pedestal with a paw in the air greeting the audience, or saying something really powerful. Here’s what Net Art gave me.
It’s really just an amalgamation of images (I believe 8 different images) answering the prompt. It definitely didn’t give me what I imagined it to, but I didn’t ask for that specifically. Despite it, I think it’s very cool! I would not be voting for this cat, though . . . something about those eyes . . .
Friday, 3/1’s Daily Create was,
“The Chrome Music Lab lets users experiment with different oscillators (square, sawtooth, triangle, and sine). Play around with the different oscillators by dragging your finger/mouse up and down each oscillator to change the its frequency. What are they saying or singing? Tell us, show us, or perhaps record a conversation/duet with your favorite oscillator.“
This one was a lot of fun with, and each time I played with the little guys, it seemed like they were so excited. So I decided to answer with that, just explaining what they were doing in my post.
I decided these little guys were singing the song of their people, and if you see how excited they are, it’s because they never get the chance to sing this for new people! They’re eager for people to hear their song and know it! I mean, if I only had limited chances to sing my song to others, I’d be excited to sing it whenever possible!
Overall, very fun Daily Creates this week. I didn’t get a whole bunch of thoughts into them, but it did open my eyes and wake me up a little, getting me ready for the work I was going to do.
Daily Create 2/29/24
All I did was type in “Kawhi Leonard”, my favorite NBA player and this appeared. Im not really sure what I am looking at here but it seems random. It looks like a collage of 4 random pictures. One of Kawhi shooting alone, a picture of just a bench, a picture of his coach from two teams ago and a picture with some people. This seems pretty random, but when it comes to art, anything can become art.
Daily Creates 7:
by Greta Hammen
The song, Castle on a Hill, by Ed Sheeran touches the heart strings. I believe that is why it has risen to the top of chart rankings. Of course, the music and singing are on point too. The daily create was to explain which castle you would choose and why. The other castle was the one that Frankenstein lived in. Another way to interpret that assignment would be to select a different castle all together. I wonder who will do that in ds106.
I created a postage stamp with the planet Saturn on it. This was in memory of Saturn 3, the first film that I watched for ds106. The planet is such a unique shape, and the purple gives some depth to the art arrangement.
On Wednesday, the daily create was to post of picture of what pure looks like to us. I chose Koko the gorilla showing affection to a kitten. Animals are our great teachers on how to love others.
Pure
For this daily create I had to upload a photo of something pure. My initial thought was something nature themed. I used fotor.com to generate this image of a river and mountain range. I think this picture is as pure as it gets. Hope you like the picture!
