Radio Show Progress

My team met over zoom on Monday to discuss the layout of our radio show.

we each started by going over past assignments such as the character creation and radio show ideas. Once we talked about each character we tried to find a way to fit them all together to have a cohesive show. We ultimately came up with the idea to create a news broadcasting show. Each one of our characters are from a different area so the main goal is to report, as our characters, from these different places.

“Radio show idea: we will each be news broadcasters as our character reports about what’s going on in their current city/ state/ country” This is the prompt that we will be working off of to all coordinate our stories.

We plan to meet again early next week to make sure we are all on track with our work and will start compiling all of our audios to one radio show.

Maddie made a google drive for all of us to share our stuff in as we complete it.

Radio Bumper

Since I hate the sound of my own voice it’s only natural, I would use the tools at my disposal.

So, I used something new Robot Voice Generator (play/download) ― LingoJam.

I took a bit more time on this since I was taking time to think about how I wanted it to come out. I spent a while looking through the available sounds since I knew I would struggle making it personally so after a while of searching I found what I needed. Using Audacity I put it together and changed the sound, so it was more suitable for what I needed. Took an hour longer than I was hopping but it was well worth the effort I put in. Quite a bit of split and adjustments finally allowed me to put it together the way I really wanted it to! So, yippee!

Daily Creates

Time to introduce this week’s daily creates. OOOOO AHHHH say it with me~ made with special help from our best boi Canva and google searches! FUFUFU as you know it was St. patties day. So, I wasn’t shocked when the topic came up and I wasn’t wearing anything green. So, I designed a nice badge that I can where the day comes up! As for the 18th if I was at work I would’ve had many options for taking pictures of confusion.

😂

As for the shoes rather than using paint on my laptop, I realized that Canva would offer the tools I needed so I am pleased with how it came out. I had much more energy this week so for once I am feeling enthusiastic. AHAHAH my work reflects that of course since it has a bit more of a personal touch rather than just trying to get a task done. Pretty good week~ myah to my fans and enemies!

Cyber 75 The Vibe Radio Show Radio Bumper

Create a ds106 radio bumper was one of the audio assignments that I chose. I had a lot of fun creating the DS106 radio bumper and wanted to take another shot at it for this radio show project.

For this bumper, I kept it simple and used only two soundtracks that I found on FreeSounds.org. I used these two soundtracks as background music behind my own scripted audio recording.

I created a script for myself that I recorded for my Fearless Femmes group radio show. I used an intro line like “Alright, listen up. This is Sapphria Mae with the Fearless Femmes.” to be very direct and edgy to fit the fatale aspect of my archetype. But then I also used lines like “Hard times? They come and go, but you? You’re built for this.” to also mask the sassy and evil parts of my character. This is to fit the other aspect of my character archetype to be gracious, likeable, and try to gain some trust with our listeners.

This bumper is intended to be used during a section of the radio show that reminds people who the Fearless Femmes are, what we do, why, and how they can be a part of it. I also tried to make it a bit more personal between one character and the audience, sometimes it may seem more personal talking to the audience like that than the whole group saying something.

I posted the link/bumper below. Hope you guys like it.

Radio Show Progress

I would say the project is going very smoothly so far! Starting off, our group emailed each other in order to get each other’s numbers so we could communicate easily. After we made the group chat, we were quick to schedule a Zoom call in order to introduce ourselves, as well as start planning and piecing together what we want to do for the project. We met on Monday and got a couple of things figured out:

  • Our group name: Fearless Femmes
  • Our radio show name: Cyber 75 The Vibe
  • What each of us will do this week (making radio bumpers, commercials, intro and outro)
  • What we want the topic and vibe of our show to be
  • Introduced ourselves and our characters!

So far, we have all made pretty good progress in terms of creating the extra pieces of the show, such as the radio bumpers or the intro. We plan on meeting soon in order to go over our progress, as well as meeting next week to record the actual show!

Cyber 75 The Vibe Radio Show In-Progress (Featuring the Fearless Femmes)

On Monday my group and I had our first Zoom meeting, and it went fabulous!! I really could not have asked for a better team to work with. We accomplished a lot within that time, here are some bullet points of our progress:

  • We firmly decided on our group name: Fearless Femmes
  • Came up with a radio show name: Cyber 75 The Vibe
  • Discussed each other’s characters and their archetypes. After doing this we started to plot on ideas for the show’s story line and really narrow our focus.
  • We came up with an AWESOME story line and topics for our show. I will not tell you and spoil it for you now so you will just have to wait and see.
  • Then we came up with timelines/deadlines that our group agreed on; This is for us to have our scripts ready by this week, we will record next week, and we came up with who will do what for our show.
  • This week I focused on creating a radio bumper and other assignments that will be beneficial to include in our radio show! I’ll be posting these later tonight or tomorrow!

I’m excited to work with this group of people and I can’t wait to hear the finished product of all of our hard work put together!

Daily Create Shenanigans – Week 9

What does confusion look like? DC #1

For this Daily Create I posted a picture that I found online of “Confusion”. I felt it was the perfect image that explained what confusion feels like for me. My mind is everywhere, I may be having anxiety, and things like that. So that is why I chose to post that image.

St. Patrick’s Day DC #2

I posted a picture of a Guiness beer on the bar at J Brian’s. That is where I enjoyed some of my St. Patrick’s Day. My last name is Burke, and Burke is actually a town in Ireland. It is a dream of mine to go visit there one day! When the Irish want to enjoy a beer, drink because of a bad day or just because – they normally say something like “Ahh I’m just taking the edge off” 😉

Cheers!

Let’s Make A Fish DC #3

#tdc4811 #ds106 For this Daily Create I immediately thought of these little fishie figures that I found on Etsy. Most of the figures are of fish that you would find out of Finding Nemo. I thought they were the cutest so that is why I posted them here.
