Weekly summary: wk 14

For this week assignment, we are still currently working on our final project with my team. we are all working together for this final video to come along. For my part of the project I created a fake news channel that is reporting on how electronics are acting up and that artificial intelligence is the main reason for this. I was able to get a TikTok video on how a home Ring camera is acting strange to its home owner. I created the video on Vimeo and added the audio from elevenlabs.io onto the spokes person. I was able to convert the audio onto the video clip on the Wav2lip generator of the spokesperson from another sample clip on Vimeo. I also added a soundtrack on the background from Vimeo. In addition, I also made a propaganda poster promoting about Ai can help better our future.

Final project outline

For my final project I will be doing a video on the pros and cons of AI and will be taking video clips and audio voiceovers to put it together. The overall outline will be

Pros-

AI is a helpful tool and resource that can be used for students/ businesses professionals and anyone out there that needs a little extra help or inspiration.

Its efficient and good at saving time

It sparks creativity and inspiration

A image and text generator

Cons-

Ethical considerations- Is using AI in certain contexts right?

AI and Biases- AI can have biases based off of the data its trained on

Does AI respect privacy- The data comes from somewhere?

Is there transparency in AI- The data may arrive in under seconds but where is the data from and are people supposed to advertise their data as AI generated?

Will this effect jobs in the long run?

I will address the pros and cons in the video with clips and voice over. I am still a bit stuck on how its going to conclude. I am hoping once I start piecing everything together that I will be inspired by how the video should conclude.

Final Project Part 3

I took yesterday and the weekend to create news ads for my group’s project. I had a little bit of difficulty finding a template on CapCut, which I usually use, but I found good templates on Canva. Instead of using one template for all of my videos, I chose to use three different templates. I took some ideas from our group outline where we put our ideas for the upcoming project. I used Sarah’s idea for one news video where 7-up machines began to go haywire. I then connected my ideas for the Tesla Crashes on the highway (a short scene from leave the world behind) with them being recently bought out by Aggressive Technologies. I then used the same clip to create another news article siting the recent podcast with workers from Aggressive technologies. I also used another idea of a self driving tesla by taking a news report of someone launching a tesla off a hill and reconstructed it so it seems like the tesla was self driving. Some of the clips received Ai voice others while others did not based purely on my discretion. I found that the internet is still hard to work around so the videos took 2x as long to do than regularly, which sucks. I hope in the coming semester the Wifi is fixed. I will say that this project gave me another opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and work with new people, which is interesting to me. In the daily group chat chatter I find little things out about others lives and it’s interesting to me how different college is from high school where you are surrounded by peers of the same age group. Every time I learn that someone has a husband I am shocked to say the least. Anyways, here is week 2’s update on the final project. Stay tuned for more.

Final Project: Script

I decided to make a script tonight to hopefully make this week easier. I picked out all the frames and put them together accordingly. I am hoping to at least make 5 Minutes for my video, and it is looking promising! In the next couple of days, I will be putting some words into people’s faces and hoping they look good enough!

Feel free to read the script but just know that things might still change before it is completely done.

(person:)    This is the house where Aggressive Technologies started its business and due to the poor working conditions, it was shut down. A couple still lingers around, and you can hear their laughter, footsteps, and the sound of the thud when the wife slipped and fell from the steps. With the husband being the only one in the house, everyone pointed the blame on him. Little did anyone else know but there have always been ghosts running around this mansion.

Josh: Hello everyone, welcome to the house of Jesse and Emily. They were known as the happy couple in their time around the 1970’s and these are the steps that Jesse pushed Emily down and if you listen closely enough you can hear the thuds multiple times. Many people believe that it is Emily falling onto the floor as she keeps reliving the moment.

(person:) Each step you take up these stairs will cause more and more creaking because of how old they are. And looking down you can see how far it is from the top to the bottom of these steps.

*cuts to the girl laying on the floor using a thud sound*

*cuts to the outside of the house*

Emily: help me! I am stuck in a time loop of my death, try to find who did th-

*while Emily says this, put around sound on the knocking of windows.*

Josh: Aggressive Technologies had a lot going on at the time of the 1970’s it was up and coming with all the new inventions like my flying cars and mopeds. I am glad to say that my flying cars are flying all over the roads now. So much has changed within 10 years.

(person) when you come up the stairs you are walking the last areas where Emily was alive.

(Person) Walking through the hallways you can hear crying from the husband

*sound man crying*

*overlap Jesse saying “please I am innocent, find the person”*

Josh: Oh wow! Did you hear that. It sounded like Jesse from way back. I use to work here back when this place was opened but now I run a successful business.

Emily: He was trying to build cars maybe they fly but he could never make them fly until I-

*thud shows girl at bottom of steps*

*overlap with knocking on the windows*

Josh: Actually, when I started my business, I was working with Emily and Jesse, we were all trying to make flying cars happen until a tragic accident occurred leaving me to question what really happened here. Too bad no one will ever know the truth because they are both dead now.

Josh: Woh! As I am walking through I can hear some foot steps up above me! Maybe it is morse code. Lets see if we can crack it for fun.

*overlay footsteps*

Josh: He killed-

*overlay footsteps*

Josh: – for the-

*overlay footsteps*

Josh: -cars to fly-

*Josh glitches out to a different voice*

*Add a tv static here*

JOsh: I am the power to the flying cars and aggressive technology had to be taken down so no one could have my credit. Emily was going to tell the world once she found out I was in it for the money. I played it like it was Jesse who pushed her, but it was me. I killed her. And then I killed Jesse by hanging him by the stairs.

*piano play sad music*

JOsh: Now that everything is out in the open, I feel much better telling the world they are all going to die because they can never get out of the flying cars once they start driving. That is why there are so many missing people and cars in the air.

Emily: Thank you for helping me out, Now I am free!

Jesse: Now Emily and I can be together forever laying in bed, Thank you for helping us solve this mystery.

Evil Bricks and Final Update

I saw another student used a website gooey AI to lip sync. I thought I book marked their post but once again I did not. internet search for the win! After much trial and error, I figured out how to get my Evil Brick to laugh. I made frames of a brick with a mouth slowly disappear and reappear. I made 8 frames in all. Then I took these and put them in Adobe Premier Rush and copied them and looped them. I then had a silent video of a brick opening and closing its mouth crudely. I them went to Gooey AI and uploaded the very short video and a sound of laughing from free sound. The program worked! it even improved my brick’s weird mouth. I now have to see if I can get it to say something other than laugh now.

I also have been having trouble with YouTube. It worked when I switched browsers.

Week 13 Summary

For my final project, I want to build upon the video I created for my last project. I noticed that the last video focused more on Rikaro and his strengths, so I want to expand upon the inventions of Aggressive Technologies now; mostly the AI-related military technology. I am enjoying editing and have planned on using multiple tools to create a visual of Aggressive Technologies’ wrongdoings, which caused Rikaro to take action. I think I’ll put different clips together to tell one final story. I don’t know if I want to end Rikaro’s story here or leave it as an open ending, but I will know when I am approaching it. I need to look for more footage to use, but since the topic of warfare is present in this video, I don’t want it to be a grim story. Hope everyone likes the final product.

Week 13 Summary

Week 13 was really light. The main focus for this week was our final project. I decided not to do any daily creates this week, as I wanted my focus to be on the final project. Not that I don’t love doing daily creates, I just wanted to really focus on working on the project. For the final project I am going to be working on it with Jackson Beale and Andrew Johnson. We worked really well in the past and I believe we can produce a great final project. As far as what we are going to do we have a few ideas. Our favorite idea is we are going to discuss the opinions on the pros and cons of using AIs from the perspective of Dr. Oblivion and our created course character. As far as the process for creating our project, we have met once to talk about ideas we wanted to do. We also have started to outline our video we’re going to do. I’m excited to see what our finished product will look like. I’m also excited for y’all to see as well. Until next time!

Week 13 Summary

For my final project, I will continue off of the radio show and my video last week. I want to continue with the theme of my character trying to take down and expose Aggressive Technologies. My plan is to put together a video where my character is interrogating high ranking members of Aggressive Technologies to try to expose their shady behavior. This will include multiple different interviews and be set up like a 60 Minutes type show so ads can play between interviews. This will allow me to create some fake ads from Aggressive Technologies or maybe some anti-AT ads as well.

So far I have found some sound bites and video footage that can be used in the production and I’m excited to write a script and start editing the video and audio! This is definitely going to be the most advanced editing project I have done and I will try to incorporate all the skills I have been practicing throughout the year.

Week 13 Summary

It was nice having a lighter posting week. I am grateful to have had enough time to properly come up with a finally project idea that feels well fleshed out, and this will definitely make next week a lot easier. I am very excited for the idea that I’ve come up with and am excited to share the final product. You can find my project report here. I decided to work individually this time around as trying to coordinate a group project towards the end of the semester while everyone is super busy can be really challenging.

Final Project Update

I have decided to create an extension of the video project, but this final project will be different because it’ll be interactive, choose your own adventure story. The central storyline will have a representative from Aggressive Tech try to recruit you into joining their group. The representative will talk about all of the great opportunities and doors that get opened to members, but the one catch is that you have to try out an experimental program that’ll have an AI chip implanted into to you. The purpose of this top secret experiment is for Aggressive Tech to create a generation of human-AI hybrids that think as one to prove to dissenters that it is good for humanity. The viewer will then be given the choice to cooperate or to leave, and this is where the storylines diverge:

If you choose to cooperate, then you will be taken to the next scene where the implantation is shown and you are being told about your new abilities and you are given a cushy, highly paid job at Aggressive Tech. You are then given a new storyline option. Isaiah Beacon asks if you’d be willing to join him as a co-preacher at his church where you would receive fame and fortune.

  • If you choose yes, overtime you become a messianic like figure and the power goes to your head and drives you insane. END
  • If you choose no, you remain at your desk job but are then tasked to help with making advanced weapons, but you aren’t allowed to ask what for. After creating the weapon, you find out that Aggressive Tech is planning to start a war. You feel conflicted as your human side feel guilty while your AI side is calculating the efficiency of the weapon. END

If you choose to dissent, you are forced to sign an NDA and are threatened with legal action by Sinclair with some insinuation that you could be physically harmed if you go public with Aggressive Tech’s plans. As you walk back home you consider how you can rebel against Aggressive Tech while preserving your well being. You are then given a new storyline option. You get into education to warn future generations about the dangers of AI overreliance and fanaticism or you join the rebel cause.

  • If you choose to go into education, you enroll in university and meet Dr. Oblivion. He encourages you to continue on your journey and serves as a valuable mentor. Twenty years later your students all love you and feel like they are well equipped to fend of the ever growing AI fanaticism.
  • If you join the rebel cause, you find the leader underground and join the resistance. He tasks you with sneaking spyware into Aggressive Tech HQ whilst undercover. You are successful and the world finds out about Aggressive Tech’s plot to create AI superhumans. END

So how will this work? Once again, I will be using gooey.ai for the lip-syncing, Audacity for the audio editing, and Canva for the video editing. I will post all of the videos on YouTube. For the choose your own adventure aspect, everyone will start with the video of you getting recruited by Aggressive Tech. In the description, there will be two video links that correspond with your choice. This is how it will work for the other videos as well. While this will be a lot of work, now that I have a storyboard, I think it should flow pretty well I just need to be on top of it next week.

I was scratching my head for awhile trying to find an idea that was creative but also used the elements that were present throughout the course.
