Video Project Plan…

For my video project I had an idea where my character will interview Dr oblivion asking his opinion on AI on a news channel setting and how Ai is adapting into the world and how us humans are effected by it. Or my second choice is having my AI character do announcement where basically the AI robots “wake up” to control the human race and for people to take shelter. In a 60s-70s style video. I hope this time the Wav2lip will work because I wanted to experiment with it for our last video project. I was having trouble using it because it took the whole day and it would always stop to an error, so I decided to do the second option that we were allowed to do back in week 5 or 6.

Week 11 wrap up.

This week was pretty light which I honestly appreciated because last week was so busy as I also had to turn in other projects as well. It was nice having a lighter workload and plan for the upcoming project ahead. I am happy with my overall concept for the video I’m still trying to figure out what platform I want to create the video in because I want it to be animated. There seems to be a lot of options out there I plan on doing more research to figure out which platform is the right one for this video. I also liked listening to the other radio shows done by everyone. The ones I was able to tune into were really well done and put together. I’m sure everyone’s video assignments are also going to be great as well.

The Radio Show Week, Plus Video Plan

This week was pretty neat, despite being sick most of the week I managed to get everything done.

Here is my post about my daily creates. They were fun, especially the flag one. I liked looking for a flag that resembled me and I’m glad if found one. I also really enjoyed the source code one since I have never gotten to that screen on purpose before lol.

As the title suggest we also got to listen to the radio shows. I listened to the one on Monday since it had my show and I thought it was amazing. Here is my post about it.

This week we also had to plan out our video project. I had a lot of trouble with this since I really had no idea where to begin. It really didn’t start to form up until about an hour ago, so I don’t think I planned as much as I needed to. Here is my post about it. I feel though that an almost rebuttal to the radio show to kind of fight back against Rikaro and Isaiah’s views would be a fun thing to do, especially since my character did not like how they were going about the future of AI.

Again overall, the week was great, but I have always had trouble with video stuff and this project will probably take the most effort for me. I will have to start this weekend, or I won’t finish.

The Plan Is in Motion (They Must Be Stopped)

I think I am going to use my own audio of Kevin talking bad about Rikaro and Isaiah Beacon ministries. Or actually, I will use an AI voice to protect Kevin. For those of you that listened to the Logic Pod on Monday you kind of got the eerie feeling that these two wanted AI to take over and my character Kvin as not about that despite his pro AI perspective. This was a bit of a character evolution as he WAS the evangelist archetype, but now he is more careful in his views and maybe his goals have changed.

I’m going to use the video editing tools and basically have Kevin denounce them as the real threat and that Aggressive technologies can be forgotten until these two are stopped. The war machine of Rikaro and the religious fanaticism of Isaiah are contradictory to what Kevin wanted for the future of AI and he believes they are detrimental to the cause.

So, I think my video will be like a public service announcement and I will use an old public service announcement video and use the lip synch tool to animate it with Kevin’s voice and message. I think he will also try to subtly convert some of their followers to his cause. Kevin knows this will draw attention to himself, but he believes they must be stopped.

The initial script will be something like this.

“Hello everyone, there is a serious topic we need to address.

Earlier this week on the Logic Pod podcast, Isaiah Beacon and Rikaro, the CEO of (  ) made it very clear that they want to utilize AI to the detriment of humanity and this cannot stand.

They want to Advance AI only for the military application and only to reach violent ends. Wake up people! Aggressive Technologies used to be the threat, but now it is clearly Isaiah and Rikaro.

I implore you, the public, to stand up to their violent rhetoric and bring attention to their nefarious plotting.

If you care about humanity and want to ensure AI is used only for good, you should join the cause of Future perfect. They intend to let AI grow and progress and ensure it is used to develop the world for good, and not for violent ends.

We must not let them win!”

So yeah, something like that. I am utilizing the free video archives to try and find a good public service announcement that fits the length and has a good person speaking.

Week 11 Summary

This week was pretty easy, I enjoyed checking out the radio shows as well as brainstorming ideas for the video next week. Starting with the Daily Creates, I especially liked being able to share a picture of my sweet work dog, Ginger:

For the radio show, I got to listen to the Radio Ravioli show, which was really well done. It was interesting to see the ways that their show was similar to my groups’ as well as the ways that it was different. This assignment was pretty easy as all I had to do was sit back and listen to their show. It really did feel like I was just listening to a radio show while in the car driving, which was nice. You can find that assignment here.

I also brainstormed some ideas for next weeks’ video assignment, and I’m excited for what I came up with. I definitely wanted to integrate my character as well as Dr. Oblivion, and I figured the best way to do this would be to set up some sort of debate between the two of them in an academic setting. The whole premise of this debate seemed very natural to both Isaiah and Dr. Oblivion, so it wasn’t difficult coming up with an outline. You can find that assignment here.

Video Plan

For general context, I plan on telling the story through a story book animation. So in between scenes, there will be a page flip. Here is an outline for the story:

  • My character Isaiah Beacon will be on stage filming a sermon for his audience and he will go into the horrors of the secular education system against AI. He’ll preach against strict AI tool bans in college classrooms. He’ll then announce that he’s arranged a televised debate against him and a prominent AI professor about the proper use of AI in the classroom, Dr. Oblivion.
  • Dr. Oblivion and Isaiah Beacon are at opposing podiums, and the moderator will end up asking 3 questions and they will each give a response and back and forth.
  • Dr. Oblivion will come out as the obvious winner with cheering from the audience, and Isaiah leaves upset.
  • Isaiah returns to his audience and warns them that the problem in higher education is even worse than he thought. He then unveils his plans for a new university, Isaiah Beacon University, that’ll properly promote AI in its curriculum.
  • The end.

Radio Show Listening

I got to listen to the Ravioli Radio show and I thought it was super creative! I especially liked the setting of a live studio audience, which is something I never would’ve thought of, but I think it added a lot to the show. I also liked that the transitions, bumpers, etc. were more eclectic because it gave the show more charm. I thought it was funny that my character and Ravioli were somewhat similar as hosts as in the show was more about our characters versus the other hosts. Finally, I thought it was interesting that both of our groups kind of took the same approach to the question and answer format. A potential reason for this could be that the scripts were written similarly, with the host writing the questions and the hosts typing their answers in.
