Video Project!!!

This week we were tasks with actually bringing out video project plans to life and so Julius and I decided to take a walk through a futuristic city that was filled with different AI elements to see how they impacted the world. There were multiple examples of how AI was being used in the city, such as within houses, the healthcare field, and finally, the entertainment sector. The video starts off with a cityscape were Julius and Xander are entering the city and they notice all the technology around them, they then move into a house where they examine all of the AI elements within the house. Second, they move into a hospital like setting where all of the AI elements that are being incorporated by the healthcare sector are being analyzed, and finally the entertainment sector is analyzed and all of the AI elements are pointed out to the viewer. While this is happening, there are various video clips playing in the background that are relevant to what the current talkings points are. The video has a clear title and ending to meet one of the requirements and any gaps in the discussion are filled with music so the viewer is not left with just bare pictures. The video itself was created through a series of medium-difficulty steps. The first step was to actually create the script and this was probably the easiest of all the steps and took the least amount of time. Following that, we needed to find a way to make AI-generated video clips that we could in the video and so we decided to use a platform called Runway, which allowed us to give the AI bot a script and it would generate a 4-second clip based on that script. Once the clip was created, we were able to extend the clip up to 4 seconds at a time and this was helpful in some situations where the clip needed to be on screen for more than 4 seconds. Once the clips were created, my partner and I used Audacity to record our lines and export them so that they could be used while putting the whole thing together. Everything was put together using OpenShot Video Editor, a application that we have become very familiar with by now, and following the script and the video clips we were able to seamlessly put the video together. This was the longest part because it took some time to make sure that the lines matched up with the actual clip being shown on screen. Other than that, the project went pretty smoothly overall and was able to efficiently use me and my partner’s time to make sure we got everything done. You can find the video down below. Video Project…

For this video project, I was able to use Wav2lip to add the audio of my AI character making a Public Service Announcement in 60-70s video graphics. The video is supposed to be a PSA televising that we found an old film that could change how the human race is going to think about Artificial intelligence. At first, I was having trouble on how to upload the video through my files but Sarah’s instructions that she posted helped me a lot!! I’m glad that I was able to use that application because I’ve been wanting to create a video with it since we were first assigned to use it.

“Turn around, bright eyes”

For yesterday’s Daily Create we were to make blackout poetry with content from a certain web site. I looked at it briefly and decided to use the Weird Old Book Finder instead, probably because I found the typography uninspiring. I searched WOBF for eclipse, skimmed a few titles and picked a random page from one. I unfortunately neglected to note the title. I highlighted some phrases that caught my eye and blacked out the rest. I saw the black void in the middle of the image and decided to drop an eclipse shot in there. In hindsight, I should have done something about the line at the top of the eclipse image, so I softened it a bit for the image above.

The TDC was appropriate for Eclipse Day, but even more so for me as I had traveled to the path of totality. I was under complete cloud cover and couldn’t see the event, but that’s okay because I was more interested in the environment and seeing/hearing how wildlife reacted. Here’s a short recording of the sounds of the area about an hour before the light went out:

I wanted to broadcast to ds106radio but my phone has been uncooperative. Maybe that’s okay because technology shouldn’t have been my focus in the moment. I can’t say the animals (deer, squirrels, chipmunks, birds) seemed any different than usual in the lead-in to the eclipse. As it started getting visibly darker, it got very quiet. It wasn’t a very quick process, but every time I blinked it was noticeably darker. I wouldn’t say it got night-time dark, but it was very close to it for a few minutes. There was no moon or stars behind the clouds for that slight dim light that happens at night, but there was dim light on the horizon. I thought heard the hoot of an owl, and definitely heard the howls of some coyotes. Also some cheers and fireworks from the crowd outside the woods. Then it started to get lighter, but not like a sunrise since the sun was mid-afternoon overhead. Quite the amazing experience. As it grew lighter there was a lot of bird chatter, like you might hear over the course of dawn but compressed into a few minutes. I’ve had worse Mondays.

At 2:45 pm on 04/08/24, I saw the moon through special glasses. It was all golden with a section out of it, like a bite out of a whole cheese pizza.

Daily Create – 4/8/2024

Today’s daily create was an interesting take on the solar moon eclipse. We had to select words and then black out the rest of the test so that only the words that we picked would show through and as a result, I came up with the following image. I did not really have a plan as to why I chose the the words that I chose but at the end of the day it ended up looking pretty cool and it was interesting to see what kinds of words I chose and if they relate to one another.

Daily Create – 4/7/2024

So, today’s daily create was to find an image that should not move and make it move, however, I was not entirely sure how to go about doing this so I instead I found this cool image of the statue in Brazil, that is dancing and hoola-hooping. I enjoyed this image because it was really humorous to look at and did its job of making sure that something like this should never actually be created. I really liked the image and I enjoyed looking at all the other options.
