For days we did ping pong messages on Discord and on Thursday, we had a Zoom meeting. This kitty cat radio show is coming together, and we have a 6-page Google doc plan. All of us have good energy and are fully engaged to produce a radio talk show that shows our individual efforts and strengths.

Last week, my Intro to Digital Studies class, had a field trip to Seacobeck and we wore VR googles and went to cool places. I went snow skiing and really felt it in my stomach! They have new, cool podcasting equipment in a room down there. If your group wants to reserve that, talk to the director in that department during regular business hours and they will approve the use of it, for a school assignment. Mikey, a computer science major, helped us and I recommend his generous assistance to navigate the complex equipment.

Commercial for Ray Ban Meta🕶️:

I did a twist on the commercial assignment suggestion and made mine of a current AI product, instead of an 80’s product. The Ray Ban Meta Smart Glasses are awesome! The lenses come in some color options, so that you can have sunglasses, clear or green lenses to wear inside. My character would order the sunglasses. She will be talking with Dr. Ravioli and wearing sunglasses on the moped.

To create the commercial, I did a voice from text at www.elevenlabs.com and downloaded the mp3. In Premiere Pro, I imported that file and a free clip form www.freesounds.com titled Echoes. In Soundcloud, I uploaded the mp3 commercial and added image from www.freepik.com.

Radio A.T. Promo✨:

In Adobe Firefly, I uploaded an image of Angelina Jolie from the movie Salt, found on Google. My character, Natasha Sidorov, resembles her. Then by using AI generated additions, I first placed a pedestal table in background on the right side, I added the cat in a separate text request. To do that sort of edit, find the command in the left side bar that allows for generative fill. Click that tool for a box with options to add, subtract, change background or invert image. I clicked add and selected the area that the object should be placed in. The fill is more accurate if the command is simple. Several options were provided from which to choose. Next, I added a microphone to the front left. For the image chosen here the text command was: taller retro silver microphone. Team leader, Bradshaw, shared the font styles so that I could create a cohesive design with the Dr. Ravioli branding. The swipe behind the “Hosted by Dr. Ravioli” text is one of the logo elements available on the site. I chose the light flesh color to blend with the background colors and yet be seen. Aggressive Technologies text is done in the font, Capitol, with a shadow effect. There are several text effects in Adobe Firefly. The letters are in light silver with black shadow.

The steps to create this video were to select an avatar on https://www.d-id.com from the library of options available on their website. You can upload one of your own, if you prefer. You can do the audio on that site, if you have an upgraded account option, otherwise you can only type in ten words. Many options are free of charge on the site. If you created these videos frequently or wanted to have the lovely option of having talking heads in your PowerPoint presentations, it is worth the $29 a month for the pro plan. On AI Voice Generator & Text to Speech | ElevenLabs, I created the audio MP3 using the voice of Lily and downloaded it. Then I returned to d-id.com and uploaded the audio MP3, pressed generate and it synced the avatar with the spoken words. I opened up Premiere Pro and imported it into a new project. On https://freesound.org, I downloaded the sounds in the link Freesound – Analysis Loop by Ehved, which is soft music. I imported the music on a layer in my project and reduced the volume of it by right clicking on it, scrolling down to audio gain and selecting -12. I tried -10 first, but it was still too loud to be the background of a speaker. Then on the audio of the avatar layer, I right clicked and increased the volume by selecting +5, this is done with the same audio gain button as before. I played it, to see if it was successful and exported it as a MPEG4. On YouTube, I uploaded it in my account and copied the link, to embed here.

It was quite enjoyable to create the sales pitch for https://www.d-id.com for Aggressive Technologies d-id for A.T. – According to Greta (gretahammen.com). The avatar looks like way that I pictured Natasha Sidorov looking like. I am all about the talking avatar now and am planning more projects to include that element!

Keeping up with my daily creates adds a little something extra to the weeks and I’m glad that we have those. Daily Creates Week 8 – According to Greta (gretahammen.com).

Katherine St. John penned, The Vicious Circle, a novel about a dysfunctional family. It seemed appropriate to have dragons at the end of the opening sentence. I posted on X and mastodon https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112079154344993547.

No matter what color I put in into the pic of Marilyn Monroe, it looked beautiful! The shape of her hair and face are iconic. The coloring book website only worked on two of my images and I chose this one for posting https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112085674432823036674432823036.

The site, Mandebrot, was easy to use to make something pretty out of a not so pretty image. The shape looked like an amoeba at first. When I changed the colors and added pattern, it took on a fish shape. It was enjoyable to play around with it.https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112091160097328038.
