My video plan will build off of my radio show. I want to find a video of one of the shadowy, ominous figures that usually has the deep voiceover, but make it my character discussing things about Aggressive Technology.
On the radio show, my character was interviewing and trying to expose AT employees, so I will do more of a deep dive into the points brought up by the employees. My character will spend time discussing in depth certain points like:
The use of surveillance technology in public
Carter, who has been jailed for several years and claims to be set up by AT
The true depth of AT’s data
AT’s lobbying effort
How “safe” everyone’s data is
The “enlightened council”
The 100% accuracy of identification technology
Bank account information being stolen
The “Aggressor family”
How AT technology improves peoples lives
The “transparency” of AT
I’m excited to fully write the script and get to editing the video for it! Hopefully, I can discuss with my group and see if they have any ideas for other things I can talk about too!
I was unable to join in on the listening party for our radio shows, since I needed to break fast for Ramadan. It was upsetting, but Robin was able to attend and give comments on it in Discord. After reading through the responses on Discord, I’m glad it got a positive reception.
I listened to some other radio shows, and all of them were fantastic. Seeing drastically different ideas being expressed with the same prompt is exciting, but the one I remember the most is Ravioli Radio. The tone is completely different to our radio show and the discussion on mopeds is funny and engaging. The commercials were great too.
When this project was first assigned, I felt some worry, since I imagined a whole lot of tedious work. In reality, it was a blast with the amount of creative control we were given. My group had many ideas and the fact that they all meshed well together is amazing. I am happy that everything went smoothly and that the end result was spectacular in my opinion.
I listened to Logic Pod this week. I loved the different voices used – especially the host. The quieter voice also added a sense of eeriness to the podcast, which added to the ominous aspect of AI. It was almost a whisper which makes it seem like maybe he shouldn’t be talking about what he was…
The idea for this radio show was super cool and I would love to see what my character would have said to try to rebut what was said on the podcast. My character has a starkly different view on AI and what its role should be moving forward.
The idea of AI sovereignty is a scary, dystopian idea, but I loved how they discussed it on the podcast! I like how Kevin was trying to shift the focus of AI from weapons to helping people but the host seemed to keep pushing for the weaponization/ aggression of AI.
The bumpers and commercials in between were placed well and fit very well into the flow of the podcast. The audio in the ads was also similar to what was in my commercial/ bumper, which I thought was interesting since we landed on related vibes for the ads and commercials despite different angles on AI.
This week was a chaotic mess for me. Still had to push through and keep it moving, but as a senior, luckily the finish line is VERY close.
I started off by doing all three of my daily creates. This was by far my favorite week of daily creates! From cats to coffee and all the way to trading cards?! It was a very versatile and adventurous week for sure. I do hope that everyone can let me know the points they think that Dr. Oblivion deserves. I would love to see what opinions everyone else has. Additionally, if you have extra time, let me know what you guys think about my pistachio latte video!
The next thing I did this week was tune into the Ravioli Radio. Even the name was making me hungry. I wasn’t able to attend the live listening sessions with the class since around 7pm is really hectic for me as we all are preparing to break our fasts at sunset! I listened to an upload a student made on their website, and wrote about my experience listening to it.
Lastly, we had to start planning out our video project. My video project plan thus far is very organized and structured with all the details of what I want in it. I hope I am able to stick with it and create a successful masterpiece. Additionally, I read my classmates’s ideas and left comments on there, they sound like great ideas too!

Today we had to create a remix of a trading card of someone, and so I chose to do mine on Rafa Nadal, a Spanish professional tennis player. He is known as one of the most hard-working, humble, and impactful guys in the world of tennis and so I chose to give him exactly those attributes or attacks. Each one represents one of best qualities and they all come together to make one whole training card, or one whole person. He is very respected and always will be.
What a week . . . I am so stressed as I think about my work load, losing scheduling for my job (I work with families directly so they have the power over my schedule and they are taking a break because of stress and moving so basically I’m not working), and this week was miserable for me emotionally from my own personal stuff, but you know what’s good! My brother’s getting married next week!!
Which just made me realize, I will need to get stuff done even sooner because of that . . . all nighters might be pulled . . . anticipate me complaining about stress and sleepiness in my posts next week.

But, here’s what happened in ds106 this week for me:
I realized I should’ve made this post immediately after I listened, because I forgot a lot of what actually happened by leaving it until Friday, but it still works.
It was really nice listening to other shows. I wish I was able to make it to the other days, but maybe one of these days I’ll go in and listen on my own.
On that note, I’m excited to see the Video projects people are working on! I saw (and commented on) a lot of ideas and plans, and it seems everyone’s doing their own fun things, so I’m excited to see how they turn out.
I talk about it a lot more in the post, but I was so stressed about this. For the entire week, I had this on the back of my mind, not sure what I wanted to make, but I finally ended up with an idea!! I’m going to interview people around me to hear different thoughts on AI! They’ve already started answering my texts about scheduling it, but I haven’t checked them yet.
I’m really excited for this. I did Yearbook in high school, so interviewing people is no biggie to me, so I’m excited to rebirth the yearbook kiddo in me.
But that was my week!
I plan to schedule my week next week as soon as I get times for the interviews. I think writing down my schedule and following it will make me feel much less stressed.

I have been thinking about what I was going to do allllllll week long, saving this for the last minute because I haven’t been sure on what I want to do. I imagined I would be doing something with Sol, but after rereading through the assignment, I realized I don’t even have to include them.
I love Sol, but I can’t imagine using someone else’s face to be them, and I have zero time to work on animating (I have 2 papers to work on this week, too!), which was my original plan.
I spent some time going through the list of plans people have already have for inspiration, and I felt sad because I couldn’t think of anything yet. Everyone had good plans, but I was lost and frustated . . .
So, while doing my best at brainstorming (word vomitting in a Google Doc until something makes sense), I followed Sarah’s tutorial that she sent in our discord group chat and posted and decided to try again at LipSyncing Dr. Oblivion, which I tried for hours weeks ago and could not get it to work at all . . . and low and behold . . . I did it!
There’s nothing to it because I was just testing, but BAM! I DID IT!!! Thank you thank you thnak you my anxiety lowered so much.
