I wanted to use my character, Rikaro, for this video, but it made no sense to appeal to Aggressive Technologies since he is against them. I’m glad I took this class, since it made me explore my creative side through video-making, which is a skill I will improve from now on when making YouTube uploads. This has been an amazing class, especially since it is the final one before graduation. Thanks for the amazing semester everyone!
I am so glad I took this class. Editing and creating videos were always in the back of my mind, but nothing really pushed me to do it until I joined this class. This final project made me do more research and put more effort than I thought I could’ve. I used multiple software to make this video a reality. I recommend ElevenLabs to everyone, since their AI voices are very close to real-life, since you can alter to range and emotion of the voices. I used OpenShot to edit the entire video and it was easy to use for beginners. I had practice with it when doing previous projects. The audio was created with free sfx and my voice through Audacity. Overall, I recommend this class to anyone who wants to enter the digital space.

For this final project, I wanted to expand on the story of Rikaro. I chose to continue the story after the hijacking of the TV. That was my video project. For this, I had an insider send an unknown detective a VHS that contained evidence on who this mysterious hacker was and their plan. It has audio of a famous Professor giving a speech to citizens that are against Aggressive Technologies and the unknown hacker’s. His speech is violently interrupted by a robot from Aggressive Technologies, but it is revealed to be Rikaro. Rikaro explains that he will kill this Professor and frame Aggressive Technologies to gain more supporters. He also adds that he will use bots to spread this narrative. I wanted to show some of the dangers of AI without it being too serious. There are researches that show the possibility of AI assisting hackers in infiltrating power plants to alter the temperatures, which can lead to explosions. I just altered this to robots.

For my final project, I want to build upon the video I created for my last project. I noticed that the last video focused more on Rikaro and his strengths, so I want to expand upon the inventions of Aggressive Technologies now; mostly the AI-related military technology. I am enjoying editing and have planned on using multiple tools to create a visual of Aggressive Technologies’ wrongdoings, which caused Rikaro to take action. I think I’ll put different clips together to tell one final story. I don’t know if I want to end Rikaro’s story here or leave it as an open ending, but I will know when I am approaching it. I need to look for more footage to use, but since the topic of warfare is present in this video, I don’t want it to be a grim story. Hope everyone likes the final product.
This week was the most fun I had. The video I created is probably my favorite creation. It has motivated me to create more videos that I thought I wouldn’t be able to make. I watched a couple of analogue horror videos on YouTube that are great examples of expositional storytelling that I enjoy. I go into detail on my video here:
I wasn’t able to do any daily creates, due to celebrating Eid with my family members. I had to create my video in the last hours of the week, but the stress paid off. Hope ya’ll enjoy the video too.
I am really happy with how this turned out. I have always wanted to make a short video that told a story. Watching over my final project made me feel great. As embarrassing as it sounds, I didn’t think I could make something like this. I thought editing a video was out of my reach, but I learned a lot. I used the lip sync AI Gooey.ai, which was easy to use. I used the same voice AI for Rikaro, since this is a time where he started losing it. I used OpenShot Video Editor, which is a great editing software for beginners like me and it’s free. I changed my initial idea, since I was more excited with this idea. In the lore, Rikaro is remembering his mentor dying and he started increasing his attacks and started losing patience. This video is a piece of classified evidence that Aggressive Technologies is analyzing with their AI to find Rikaro’s whereabouts or where his next attack is.
This week was the end of a project that I had a great time with. Our group’s radio show was included into the ds106radio, but I was unable to listen in. I give my thoughts on it here:
A new project is beginning, which allows me to expand upon the lore of Rikaro’s world. We have to make a video with some manipulations in it. I had some ideas on how to do this which can be found here:
Overall, it was a calm week which means that we are preparing for a busy one soon with the video project and the end of the semester coming up.
For this project, I want to expand upon the lore of Rikaro’s world. I mentioned how Rikaro lost his parents at a young age, but was taken care of by an insane engineer that created weapons to rebel against the country. I want to create a video that involves this engineer that I haven’t fleshed out yet. I looked through the Internet Archive and saw many old time videos and propaganda that would work well with the themes of war that Rikaro is involved in. I might try to find a black and white video of a man talking to the camera claiming to be that engineer and speaking optimistically of society and technology. This would be a contrast to who he was when taking in Rikaro. My ideas might change later, but this is the plan for now. The animation will be done with Wav2Lip.
I was unable to join in on the listening party for our radio shows, since I needed to break fast for Ramadan. It was upsetting, but Robin was able to attend and give comments on it in Discord. After reading through the responses on Discord, I’m glad it got a positive reception.
I listened to some other radio shows, and all of them were fantastic. Seeing drastically different ideas being expressed with the same prompt is exciting, but the one I remember the most is Ravioli Radio. The tone is completely different to our radio show and the discussion on mopeds is funny and engaging. The commercials were great too.
When this project was first assigned, I felt some worry, since I imagined a whole lot of tedious work. In reality, it was a blast with the amount of creative control we were given. My group had many ideas and the fact that they all meshed well together is amazing. I am happy that everything went smoothly and that the end result was spectacular in my opinion.
