these are the daily Creates I did for the week! I was a bit picky this week because one of the daily creates confused me a bit so I did the “message in the sky”, “silk drawing”, and “secret enterance.”
for the plane, I literally had no clue what i would have said but if I had the money to put a message up, I think I would just pull a prank where it just says “ahhhh” as if the plane is screaming.
I also did the Silk Drawing one and I was just messing around and it started to look like a butterfly so I continued the butterfly idea.
The last one I did was the secret entrance. I just thought if you fell down that hole that you would fall and see a long cave hallway. It also gave me Game of Thrones dungeon vibes.
I think the daily creates are a easy assignment and I do actually enjoy doing them! I just get very cluttered with all the blog posts I have to do and this just feels like a factory reset for this class, almost like its the only thing I am confident I am doing correctly.
this week I has a busy time in the beginning with personal stuff so I read through the assignments on Monday and Tuesday as I did some daily creates between my free time. I really hunkered down with these assignments and honestly had a really enjoyable time with this week! I feel like I learned a lot about AI imaging and Color theory in marketing with movies and books! I think I enjoyed the amount of work we had as well because it wasn’t super overwhelming! I think I had a good time with AI imaging assignment, I think having a simple word like “cat” to “breed of cats” to “lynx point” to “cat having a tea party” and I got some pretty fun results. I wanted to use a cat for the theme because cats can be very detailed in many different ways, and they are cute! as you can see my roommates can in my 20 min photoblitz!
I also thought the photoblitz was fun and my friend Gracie also helped me out so it was fun to have a fun time with a friend with this assignment!
I also did Three Daily Creates! I had a lot of fun doing it so check out that blog post!
the AI assignment was a cool way to play with AI imaging but it does kind of scare me with the accuracy!
and lastly I watched the videos and I REALLY enjoyed them! it seems like such a fun industry to be in!
For this one I used Google’s Art Coloring Book to color in my own version of The Watermelon Seller by Hafidh al-Droubi
2: Gif Your First Job
I chose this gif to represent my job as a counselor at a children’s ceramics summer camp.
3: Theme Song
My theme song is Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes by Jimmy Buffett. As I say in the original post, this is more of a goal, because I am almost never as relaxed as he is about change.
I saw we only had to three daily creates for this week but I did the coloring page one and i made an edit of the artist collage, not sure if that was the daily create for 1/30 but that is how I interpreted it! and for my Gif I us to work at a bread bakery and this is how I felt every Sunday morning!
This week was a fight between my love of creation and spending hours fixing minute things no one would notice and my lack of time. Even though I had a week and started almost immediately with my character creation assignment, the urge to make everything perfect by taking days to do each assignment left me running at the end of the week to finish everything.
Creating my assignments for the week was definitely fun until I realized how much time I wasted with things like choosing just the right font to match the movie posters in my infographic for Baby Driver. Even smaller assignments like the five frame story and cartoon character ad were immediately turned into tasks of stress as I debated between using different movie images or gifs that were almost identical. If I’ve learned anything this week it’s that I need to learn how to focus and get these done a lot faster somehow.
The reading for this week was definitely not what I was expecting when I started. To say I’ve met a new side of the internet is an understatement as I’ve never heard of the Techno-Optimist group and did not know they were so extreme. I go into it more in my post here.
Finally, the daily creates. This was honestly the most fun of my day. The prompts were random and kinda wacky in a way I wouldn’t have guessed. You can view those creations below.
Day 1: #tdc4390 Your Town’s What 3 Words Map Story.
I’m from Woodbridge and I got back the three words: toward, corner, fails.
Day 2: #tdc4391 Ceiling Post.
Not a very interesting ceiling just feels very bright and spacious.
Day 3: #tdc4392 Write a Fibonacci Poem
Today
I
learned what
Fibonacci poems are.
They become quite easily overlong
as each line grows and words spread until
the lines start unfurling into the margins of the page and start pushing
into the edges of my computer forcing their way through the screen flowing into my the world and now your screen.
Day 4: #tdc4394 California Dreaming based on this view
A storm rages through the trees and the mountains,
Surrounding the land in its dark story clouds
While the world drowns in its neverending shower.
A lone steel tower stands still through the storm,

This activity used what3words to generate three words based on my hometown. I then used images related to that place, including art based on history, informational signs, and common animals, to create a collage. I edited using PhotoPea.
January 21: Ceiling Selfie
For this daily create, I took a photo of the ceiling of where I was sitting, which happened to be my desk. Unfortunately, the ceiling was pretty boring.
January 22: Fibonacci Poem
This activity had us write a poem where the amount of words in each line corresponded to the Fibonacci sequence.
“today i woke up and got ready. I went to the gym, then had breakfast and watched a fun show. now it is time to go to my first class, wish me luck!”
January 24: California Dreaming Poem
For this daily create, I watched several minutes of a California weather feed and wrote a poem inspired by it. I could not post the entire sonnett due to character restrictions on Mastodon, so here is the full thing:
“the moving clouds and all the flashing lights
are shining on an inky, blue-grey sky.
i wonder what its like on those such nights,
and know the vision one could never buy.
It’s pretty, but it’s hard to understand
unless you’re there, which i have never been.
one day i’ll travel to the far off land
and look upon the real sky with a grin.
it’s hard to see but i can tell it’s there,
even as i gaze upon a screen.
to judge from here cannot be fully fair,
but i imagine it’s like the sistene.
to tell is hard but I’ve written all this
faking a quite sincere sense of bliss.”
January 25: Internet Emergency Exit sign
This daily create asked us to make an emergency exit sign about the internet. I decided to make a warning for websites with possible viruses. Once again, it was fun to play around with photo editing even if the result wasn’t spectacular.
