Radio Show Intermission:

A brief intermission for are radio show that I created on Bandlab. I was at a drive in movie theater that was showing a double feature and in between movies there was an intermission filled with ads/videos. One of the videos during the intermission had a more wholesome approach and wasn’t product based so I drew inspiration from that and made a wholesome style intermission for our show. The inspiration from the post came from the radio show Intermission assignment.

Radio Show Design Project: Fearless Femmes

When Coming up with a poster idea, I knew I did not want to do anything to wild, I’m not that imaginative, but I knew I would be using Canva. The reason I chose this specific design was because in our podcast we intend to be giving advice to other people who may be going through a difficult time. However, as everyones character is a different kind of women within the way she looks or carries herself I though a headless women be better. I think it gets the message across that we are a group of women who may be different but women nonetheless.

The Week Before

This week was the first full week of working with my group on our upcoming radio show, now titled The Opposites. Getting in touch and first starting is never easy, but I believe it was as seamless as it could be. We discussed and came up with a plan regarding our show’s contents, as well as made an outline for our show with a general script to follow to make things more structured and organized. The process is going well and I think myself, Rusul, and DK have a solid plan to put everything together the following week.

Radio Show Commercial:

Process:

I created this using Dr.oblivion and instructed him to make a short commercial with “This show is brought to you by Noir Water company the one and only water of the future there are no other options.” as his guideline. Above is what he came up with. I like how he made the snarky remark about the water being monopolized, as this is a futuristic setting and helps fit the Noir theme. The inspiration for this post came from the create a commercial assignment

Welcome, DOCAR!

I decided to modify the “Good Morning Message” assignment in order to make an intro for our radio show, Days of Crime and Roses (aka DOCAR).

I used Audacity to cut together Frank Sinatra’s Days of Wine and Roses in order to make it a little more tech noir. I used a video of a women demonstrating how to pronounce the word “crime” in order to get a human audio of the word, and then copied the audio and distorted it in several different ways. I used my favorite YouTube to mp3 converter to turn these into editable files. I also grabbed a static effect from FreeSounds just to make everything extra disorienting. My favorite part of all of this was finding the perfect piece of instrumental to go under the word “crime” to make it fit within the rest of the song.

Weekly Summary 9

This week was a more busy week for me, but thankfully get everything done. I started off the week by getting my daily creates done Daily Create Week 9. I then finished up my blog post Radio Show Progess. These were the easier assignments so I made sure to saver them while I could. I then created a poster that would fit my part of the radio show Radio Show Design Project this was a little more challenging but still and overall fun assignment. The last assignments were audio assignments that actually helped me complete a part of my final project so it was 2 birds with one stone, I completed these using Audacity something I am familiar with. Week 9 Audio Assignment Commercial Week 9 Audio Assignment Bumper. These were pretty simple to complete since I have used it for part assignments. Lastly I did some commenting and reading on other peoples post. Overall a good week.

Week 9 Audio Assignment Commercial

For this assignment I had to create a Commercial for our final radio show project. I was able to make the commercial about anything so I chose something that I use MELATONIN. This was a fun little assignment because I got to practice my Audacity comprehension but also find fun sounds to make it sound like a commercial. I chose a jingle that I thought suited the sleepy theme and overlayed my voice on top. I turned down the original jingle so that it would not overpower my voice when speaking over it. Overall this was a fun assignment and helpful towards my final project as well.

Week 9 Audio Assignment Bumper

For this assignment I had to create a Radio Bumper for our final project. My course character did this radio bumper. Overall this radio bumper was easy because I have done them in the past using Audacity. I chose sounds that support my course character such as cars and car horns to really seem like Jack Cross is the one doing the bumper.

Radio Show Design Project

For my part of the radio show, this poster perfectly captures my character, Jack Cross, while tying into our overall theme of news reporters in different local areas.Jack isn’t a typical journalist he barely speaks, but his actions say it all. By day, he’s a skilled mechanic; by night, a getaway driver helping people escape danger. His ability to stay calm under pressure makes him the perfect reporter for high-stakes stories.

The poster blends his mysterious nature with a newsroom theme. The dark cityscape, sleek car, and microphone highlight his role, while the tagline, “Breaking News: Jack Cross Delivers the Truth, No Matter the Cost,” reinforces his no-nonsense approach.

This design reflects both Jack’s character and the suspenseful, action-packed tone of our radio show. Stay tuned this is one broadcast you won’t want to miss!

Radio Show Progess

This week, my group and I met on Zoom to discuss and brainstorm ideas for our podcast. During our meeting, we went through a variety of potential concepts, carefully considering which one would be the most engaging and enjoyable for both us and our audience. After a lot of discussion, we ultimately decided that our podcast would feature our characters as news reporters, delivering news updates from the fictional worlds or settings they are from. We felt that this idea would allow for creativity, humor, and an engaging storytelling format.

Once we settled on the concept, we moved on to organizing the workload. We made sure to divide the tasks evenly so that everyone had a clear role and responsibility in the project. Each group member was assigned specific duties, such as writing scripts, researching content, editing audio, and handling any necessary technical aspects. We also established a timeline to keep ourselves on track, making sure that everyone knew their deadlines and what was expected of them. Overall, the meeting was productive, and we left feeling confident and excited about bringing our podcast idea to life.
