Radio Show Progress

My team met over zoom on Monday to discuss the layout of our radio show.

we each started by going over past assignments such as the character creation and radio show ideas. Once we talked about each character we tried to find a way to fit them all together to have a cohesive show. We ultimately came up with the idea to create a news broadcasting show. Each one of our characters are from a different area so the main goal is to report, as our characters, from these different places.

“Radio show idea: we will each be news broadcasters as our character reports about what’s going on in their current city/ state/ country” This is the prompt that we will be working off of to all coordinate our stories.

We plan to meet again early next week to make sure we are all on track with our work and will start compiling all of our audios to one radio show.

Maddie made a google drive for all of us to share our stuff in as we complete it.

Story Treatment

Title: Neon Justice

Logline:
In a neon-drenched Philadelphia teetering on the edge of lawlessness, high-powered attorney Natasha Slayer takes on a career-defining drug case, only to uncover a conspiracy that puts her family, career, and life at risk. With the city’s corrupt underbelly closing in, she must navigate a world of shadowy informants, high-tech surveillance, and brutal enforcers to expose the truth—before she becomes the next target.

Act 1: The Case of a Lifetime

Philadelphia pulses with neon and the hum of constant surveillance. Crime is not just in the streets—it’s in the boardrooms, the courtrooms, and behind every closed door of power. Natasha Slayer, a formidable defense attorney, is the last honest force standing between justice and the city’s total descent into corruption.

When a mysterious client, Jaxon “Jax” Reyes, a former cartel chemist turned whistleblower, is arrested for a drug operation he swears he was framed for, Natasha is called to defend him. The case is high-profile, the media swarms, and powerful figures demand his silence. But something about Jax’s story doesn’t sit right with her—he knows too much, and someone wants him buried.

Despite warnings from her colleagues and threats that creep closer to home, Natasha digs deeper. Her husband, Evan, a tech security consultant, starts to notice their home network being probed by unidentified sources. The couple tightens security, but the deeper Natasha goes, the more dangerous the game becomes.

Act 2: The Web of Corruption

Jax gives Natasha a cryptic lead: a hidden ledger of transactions implicating not just cartel leaders but also high-ranking politicians, police brass, and corporate executives. With the help of a rogue cyber-journalist, Natasha pieces together a network known as The Veil—a syndicate that controls the city’s drug trade through legal loopholes and digital manipulation.

Her office is ransacked, her car is hacked, and anonymous threats demand she drop the case. When her closest friend and paralegal, Maya, is found dead under suspicious circumstances, Natasha realizes this is no longer just about Jax—it’s about silencing the truth permanently.

With her family’s safety at risk, Natasha turns to her husband’s underground contacts—hackers, former cops, and street-level informants—to fight back. A masked enforcer known as Specter begins tailing her every move, and Natasha realizes she has become the prey.

Act 3: The Reckoning

Natasha sets a trap. Using the ledger’s encrypted files, she leaks just enough information to force The Veil into action. At a high-stakes gala filled with the city’s elite, she exposes the key players in real-time, streaming evidence across every news channel. But before she can escape, Specter and his mercenaries descend on the event, turning the ritzy affair into a bloodbath.

With only her instincts and a concealed weapon, Natasha fights through the chaos, managing to bring down Specter in a brutal, rain-soaked rooftop showdown. As sirens wail, the FBI storms in—her husband having traced and leaked The Veil’s financial dealings as a final checkmate.

In the aftermath, high-profile arrests shake the city. Jax enters witness protection, and Natasha—though victorious—is left scarred. She returns to her family, knowing that justice in this city is never black and white, but in the neon glow of the future, she will always stand her ground.

Radio Show Ideas

One of my ideas that best involves the use of the Tech Noir theme and also tying in our characters is to go into the making of our charters. To be a clearer, why did you make the character you did? Each one of us was given a list of different archetypes while also given the full freedom to create whoever we wanted. Are these characters based off of traits we have, based off of someone we aspire to be like, or even just because we thought the description was cool. Personally I look at my character as someone that embodies a lot of traits that I have while also being able to step into this world of Tech Noir where things are very different in compared to my average life.
