Childhood Comedy

by Andrew Johnson

I don’t know about y’all, but when I was a kid, one of my favorite shows to throw on the tv was Tom & Jerry. In every episode, there was always a funny conflict to watch between the two, allowing me to laugh until I couldn’t laugh anymore. I used iMovie to upload the clip of Tom & Jerry and then added some sound effects and editing to produce a quality sound-over to cover every aspect of the scene that was going on. I hope everyone enjoys this short clip!

My Dog Max

by Andrew Johnson

Meet my lovely dog, Max, a well-trained lab mix who loves long walks and to play. iMovie allowed me to upload a video I had saved from TikTok with the challenge presented in the opening scene of the video. I then added the song Stereo Hearts in the background to enhance the joyfulness of any pet that comes to the viewer’s mind. Hope y’all laugh your hearts out!!

Winning = Championships

by Andrew Johnson

The Walk of Life Project states that the Dire Straits’ song “Walk of Life” can represent the perfect ending scene of any movie. In this case, I chose the movie “Moneyball,” directed by Bennett Miller. I think that the ending scene of this movie correlates perfectly with the song “Walk of Life.” I uploaded both clips (the ending movie scene and song) to iMovie. I was then able to edit the clips so that they matched in the way I saw fit to produce the best outcome. Hope y’all enjoy it!

How Was Your Week?

by Andrew Johnson

Weekly Summary: For week 5 of ds106, I found it to be probably my favorite week yet. I started off by creating both of my daily creates before moving into the heart of the assignments for this week. The videos in the weekly assignments segment provided valuable information to form my video essay. For the video assignment I chose to provide a voiceover for the movie Interstellar, produced by Christopher Nolan. I have always loved Christopher Nolan films because of their attention to detail and imagery. There is always a mysterious underlying theme in Nolan’s films that allow the viewer to think after the conclusion of the motion picture. After uploading one of my favorite clips for ‘Interstellar,’ I used iMovie on Mac to produce a voiceover. Overall, I think my video essay assignment for this week came out better than expected, I hope y’all enjoy!

Into The Dark Abyss

by Andrew Johnson

During the process of my video essay for ds106, I was able to discover the use of audio voiceover. That said, I found a clip on YouTube of Interstellar, produced by Christopher Nolan, a scene that depicts the use of imagination, fantasy, and momentum. The visual effects of the film in general sparked my curiosity and that is why I decided to produce my video essay on this masterpiece of a film. After downloading the clip to my computer hard-drive, I then uploaded it to iMovie, where I could trim the clip down and create a voiceover. Overall, Interstellar is a great piece of science-fiction that can be used to describe many aspects in the film genre in which it falls under.

The Future Awaits

by Andrew Johnson

As stated in my first-ever blog post, I mentioned a few goals I would like to achieve throughout the Spring 2024 semester for ds106. The first of my goals was to understand the aspects and tools of ds106 to pursue Pre-Law as my future endeavor. With an understanding of the materials used in ds106, I can help turn the future of how AI is used in the legal system. I believe that I am learning more every week, especially how to use AI and other programs, such as Audacity. Overall, I am excited for the coming weeks to learn more about digital storytelling and audio projects.
