This week was really short like last week. I do admit in the beginning I was stressed because I thought that I had to do everything on the assignments page but it was really part a or part b. I chose part b which was three visual assignments! Most of the visual assignments I used to add more depth to my character and it was really fun to create! I thought about some creative ways to do these assignments because filming during this week would be too time consuming while studying for my upcoming exams. When overcoming this problem found that the solution was to find free videos to use for my assignments through a website like how we used free audio instead of recording audio. This taught me how to match up the audio that I found on free audio with the free videos on the website, which gave proof to some really nice work that you should check out. I also added more depth to my course character in the weekly assignment, which was really fun to do, and I have gotten so much great feedback from it, which is exciting. I cannot wait to do more assignments related to Marie! I am learning a little bit more every week and its nice being able to see how I can put this to toward maybe starting that youtube channel I was thinking about! Perhaps I will use these techniques to do a youtube video for my first trip to Disney world over spring break!

Aggressive Technology Take over
I mentioned earlier that Marie’s job wants to standardize AI in the call center, to help sort calls. The company that owns the call center that Marie manages was just bought out by the mega-multi-national corporation Aggressive Technologies. The company is now forcing its company to use its AI helpers to sort calls instead of the division of workers who normally do it. Normally, Marie is obedient and follows orders from above, but this is the last straw to break the camels back. Marie is against the new AI helpers because the company refuses to find the call sorting division workers new positions or provide a proper severance package. Having worked for the company for many years this is frustrating because she knows almost every person who works there and tries to develop a special connection to each of the employees she manages. Marie is now researching ways to postpone this Ai takeover and is making plan to reinstate the workers who will loose their jobs in new positions within the company.
Video Analysis
This took a lot of effort and I am not really happy with the result. I wish I had more time to play around with video editors and to make it better. I did get it done and I hope that you enjoy it. To start with this I watched the movie and picked a specific scene. I thenn found the scene on youtube and converted it to a downloadable file. I then added said file to my Capcut account in a new project. After watching the clip a bunch of times I selected a little less of the clip to analyze. For this I chose the build up to the initial fight. This was very packed with film techniques, so I rewatched the clip a couple more times and made a script for my audio recording. I took a bunch of audio takes and then picked three which I cut to match the video. I did have to freeze frame, and slow down certain points of the video to completely match it but it worked out. I then added subtitles and a title screen and then posted the video. This is probably the most time consuming project to date but I really appreciate that I learned how to create a youtube video. I have more appreciation for those who do it consistently.
Week of 2/12- 2/16
This week had the least amount of assignments, but it was very time-consuming and took a lot of research, in addition to my daily creations, which are linked below, I watched videos about film analysis and made a video of my own!

Road trip
Let’s take a road trip back to week one and revisit the goals that I set for myself in this class. For a refresher, here are the goals.
- Be more flexible with the programs and software that I use,
- Learn how to convey messages better
- Be more open to others’ thoughts, and improve from them.
- How to convey my creative process
I have made progress with being flexible with the programs and software and becoming more efficient in learning how to use them, but there is always room for improvement. Number 2, I am still struggling with but I feel like I have shown improvement in conveying my messages better, especially in last week’s weekly review. Number 3, I am doing better with, on week three I was really overwhelmed with work and exams so i lacked behind and it was suggested that I review what it means to write a good weekly review. Instead of being upset about it, I acknowledged that I didn’t do too well on that weekly review, and reviewed what I needed to fix which showed in the last weekly review that I did. I didn’t realize it when I wrote my goals, but number 2 and number 4 are the same thing.
I think that there is a lot that I still need to work on but I am getting there!
Tuning in
This week we were supposed to tune into the ds106 radio. I tuned in on Monday and was met with an old futuristic radio story filled with sounds. When listening, I along with others tuning in, were able to hear different distinct sounds. We were able to hear escalating music letting you know what is going on. I was unable to listen to about 15 minutes worth of the show unfortunately because there was a fire alarm mid way through the show. I soon returned and caught up on what happened from the chat. When I was listening the sounds of footsteps were the most intriguing part of the story fro me. Based off of the footsteps we were able to tell who the characters are and where they were. The pace and breaks in footsteps also helped build the story. It was a really interesting story, and I look forward to listening into the radio again sometime soon.
A StOry THroUGh MuSIC
Have you ever attended a musical production? Where there is nothing but music that tells a story. I recently attended a show like that last semester and thought that I’d take music and create a story. This assignment said to use new and old music to create a story but to avoid the SoundCloud police I used instrumentals. I copied and pasted a bunch of different sounds into audacity and created a story called broke music box. In the beginning , the music box is playing nicely along with the music but the music box gets broken in the story and no longer functions well. I wanted to use this as symbolism for a tarnished innocence. In the back you can also hear birds that get silenced when the music box is broken. Listen down below.
