I feel that our final project of an “AI Taking Over Video” is taking shape. After classes today, I wrote the script for the news anchor with alarming headlines. I created the talking avatar video and put the link on our google document for the group project. This is the foundation for the others to then create their news stories that will be inserted into the newsroom scenario. Can you imagine AI judges that are making legal decisions on cases? We have weather difficulties, tech not cooperating and talking bricks. This is getting serious folks!

Favorite daily creates to do involve making art. I enjoy the websites that the prompts take us to, in order to have the desired art outcome. This week we had the solar eclipse, which is a rare occurrence and a reminder of what an amazing world we live in! I put together Daily Creates: Pockets Ablaze TDC: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com), Psychedelic Art TDC: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com) and https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112248565098336091.
It has been beneficial to see and read what others in the class are able to do Comments to: Daily Create – 4/7/2024 – Creative Bytes: Exploring the World of DS106 (rishicshankards106.com), https://blog.raptnrent.me/2024/04/09/turn-around-bright-eyes/?unapproved=215228&moderation-hash=a132365dc08aa9931d, Daily Crate 04/12/24 – its_Senpai (lesenpai.com), Video Project, Troubles As Usual – Abiotic Interface and Video Project: AI in Space & Skis – Tubba Talks (tubbanoor.com). Thank you, Professor Bond, for sharing about your recent travel experience to get the best view of the solar eclipse and for recording the sounds at the time it occurred.
My video, AI For Our Future – According to Greta (gretahammen.com), can be watched here and a reflective analysis of the process is written. I plan to try the Wav2Lip application on a different clip in the near future, so that I have that sense of satisfaction that comes from achieving the goal!

My video project is of Grant, an AI image generator of a man talking straight into a camera. I uploaded this image onto studio.d-id.com and gave him a profile with name and a pdf of text that he might say, if asked questions. Then, I was able to create the video on that site with my text and the lip syncing is done with the click of a button. I am happy with the results!
I originally worked on a video titled, Frank talks AI, FranktalksAI.mp4.3gp. I spent approximately 5 hours on the process of the video during this week. I downloaded it from House I Live In, The : Ross (Frank) Productions, Ltd. : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive, then I uploaded it to YouTube, I thought that I should do it that way, but there are other ways of doing it. I imported it into Premiere Pro, cutting it down to a minute. I created the audio on AI Voice Generator & Text to Speech | ElevenLabs. Then, I did the Wav2Lip process four times. I got the green checks on the left for the uploads, but the syncing was unsuccessful and did not output a video.
You can view a clip of it here: https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxdFmw8ntaiysQjTrtQe3NYWPirGKF9RVj
The lesson learned here, is that on occasion, even with considerable troubleshooting, sometimes you have to create a new plan and proceed.

I’m not a poet, but this nonet got me thinking about life and the parts that make up the whole. https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112248565098336091

These types of daily creates are my favorite. The art is fun to make, and the sites have lots of options from which to choose. This was done on Mandelbrot Fractal :: Zazow. The post on Mastodon is here: https://social.ds106.us/@gretahammen/112244096165718941.

I’m an artist at night, my work can be viewed at Daily C. 1 of 3: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com), Daily C, 2 of 3: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com) and Daily C, 3 of 3: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com).
The talk shows are revealing how people think and how people can work together on projects. I listened all three nights to the shows and wrote DS106 Rad.io Shows: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com) about one of the shows.
I watched some free source videos for options to use in the animated video project due next week. This is my proposed plan: Lips Waving “My Way” Video Plan: – According to Greta (gretahammen.com).

My animated video plan is to use the film, The House I live in, from the Library of Congress. Frank Sinatra was a young man in this, who does some singing and talking nice to a group of children. I hope to have one boy ask him, “What is artificial intelligence anyway? His response will be, AI is like a super-smart computer that can do lots of things for us, like play games, recognize pictures, and even talk to us! But it’s important to remember that AI is just a machine, and it can’t do everything that humans can do. One cool thing about AI is that it can help us learn new things and make our lives easier. For example, AI can help us find the best route to take when we’re driving, or it can suggest the perfect gift for a friend based on their interests. However, it’s important to remember that AI is not a human, and it can’t feel the same way that we do. It can’t experience emotions like happiness, sadness, or anger. When you are older, you can watch Black Mirror, episode titled, Be Right Back, for an example of what I am saying. And it’s important to be careful when we’re talking to AI, because it can’t understand sarcasm or jokes the same way that humans do. Overall, AI is a really cool technology that can help us in many ways, but it’s important to use it responsibly and safely. And always remember that AI is just a machine, and it can’t replace the love and support of real humans!
I have not used Wav2lip before and I understand that the script needs to be 60 seconds or less. I plan to stack those one-minute sections. If that is unsuccessful, I will refer to the list of AI tools, for other options to troubleshoot.
