Behind the Scenes of Noir Games: Weekly Summary

After discussing a plan we distributed the work for creating Noir Games. I was put in charge of working on the whole script, creating a radio bumper, and creating a commercial for this week so that we will be prepared to record our dialogue next week. Both of the audio assignments can be found in my post called Noir Games Intermission.

Noir Games was inspired by the old post I made called Mission: Probably Impossible with further detail from my other old post called Noir Games Ideas. We chose to make our characters Runa, Max, Jaxx, and Lenore the participants in the game show while using Dr. Oblivion as the sarcastic game show host.

For the Noir Games radio show I chose to make a poster as the promo which can be found in my post called Don’t Miss this Futuristic Trivia Show!

Unrelated to Noir Games but the 3 Daily Creates I made this week can be found in the post called Inside My Creative Mind.

Noir Games Intermissions

I kept the game show theme and used sound effects that helped set the scene of one. I started with using Audacity with sound edits of trivia background music then added in a countdown ticking as if waiting for an answer. Once answered I added a ding sound to portray that it’s correct then a crowd applauding. Lastly, I recorded my voice saying, “Are you good enough? Are you smart enough? Prove it! Stay tuned into Noir Games and see how many questions you Really know!” to announce the show while game show music played in the background.

I wanted to make a more futuristic commercial so I based it on the idea of advertising robot lovers inspired by my old post called Empire State of Love. I used Audacity to edit in sound effects and background music. I started with sad music with a added heartbeat effect and the sound of glass shattering kind of like a heart breaking along with a girl crying afterwards resembling a break up. Then the music turns upbeat as I used my voice to say, “Are you sick of this same old love? The endless loop of dating and searching only to be disappointed. Well it’s time for a change! Come to Build-a-Bot! Where you can design your own dream soul mate!” Lastly the sound of a kiss was added for the ending to tie it all together.

Inside My Creative Mind: Week 9

St. Patrick’s Day

For this Daily Create I was supposed to show a picture of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. For me I chose Irish soda bread because I remember in school as a kid we celebrated by eating it after making handmade butter.

Duck or Rabbit?

For this Daily Create I was supposed to show a picture of confusion. One of the most confusing pictures for me are optical illusions so I found a picture of one of the most popular ones. Personally I tend to see a rabbit first and then the duck afterwards.

A Message Under the Sea

For this Daily Create I was supposed to type up a message to someone and for mine I chose to write “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants!” I chose this message because it is a reference to a popular cartoon that I am highly sure most people have seen when they were younger and would probably understand.

Don’t Miss This Futuristic Trivia Show!

If you think you got what it takes to win then be sure to listen in on Noir Games and see how many answers you know! Two teams go head to head for a prize of 1 million dollars in this wild high-tech game of ultimate trivia!

For my promo poster for Noir Games I used Canva to design it. Since it is supposed to be a futuristic game show I used all neon design options including the texts and the small details like stars, smiles, lightning, and the trophy between the title on top. I wanted to include a slogan for it so I wrote, “Trivia just got an upgrade,” to make it sound more exciting. Also to make it seem more like a realistic promo poster I also added, “New episodes every Friday,” as if it is a real radio show. Lastly, the background is more straightforward with the use of a game show image which instantly explains what the show is about to the audience. I also used Canva to make the trivia example picture above to show the type of questions the participants will be getting.

This Week Working With The Radio Show Fearless Femme Beauties:

This week was a blast! Up in the banner above is of me and all of my archetype radio show members. This was also my work for my Cyber 75 The Vibe Radio Show Design Project Assignment. I decided to make a banner that includes all group members so this can represent us as a whole and also individually because each character is rightfully different and should be appreciated in their own way. Also – Just to note, some of these pictures are from the actual pages of these characters but some are not. I picked out some of the pictures myself because I wanted everyone to have their own picture to represent them and put a face to the name. Just in case you try to go to their pages, and you don’t see these pictures there. Now you know.

The first audio assignment I completed was to Create a Radio Bumper. I did this for the DS106 radio show and wanted to try to create another one this radio show. This bumper is intended to be used during a section of the radio show that reminds people who the Fearless Femmes are, what we do, why, and how they can be a part of it. I also tried to make it a bit more personal between one character and the audience, sometimes it may seem more personal talking to the audience like that than the whole group saying something. My work is posted here: Cyber 75 The Vibe Radio Show Radio Bumper

The second audio assignment I completed was the Radio Show Intermission Assignment. I chose this audio assignment to help build our story line and to add some spice to the radio show. I gave more exposure on each characters name and exposed “secrets” or “tea” to keep listeners engaged. My work is posted below: Cyber 75 The vibe (Featuring the Fearless Femmes) Radio Show Intermission

Overall Progress That Was Made This Week:

Cyber 75 The Vibe Radio Show In-Progress (Featuring the Fearless Femmes)

We had our first meeting this past Monday, and since then we have accomplished a ton. In my post, I’ve put bullet points on most of the things we’ve done, clearly set out what we want to accomplish, and what plans we have in the future (next week). So far, we have really stuck to the plan and the plan has been executed beautifully by everyone. Overall, I’m very happy with the progress we’ve made.

Last But Not Least; Some Daily Creation Fun!

Daily Create Shenanigans – Week 9 is where I posted my daily creates.

I posted about what confusion looks like to me, how I celebrated St. Paddy’s Day, and had the chance to talk about the little cute fishies I found on Etsy!

Great topics this week 🙂

I really enjoyed working with my group this week and can’t wait for us to put all of hard work together next week when we create the final product.
