Pockets Ablaze TDC:

At 2:45 pm on 04/08/24, I saw the moon through special glasses. It was all golden with a section out of it, like a bite out of a whole cheese pizza.

Daily Create – 4/8/2024

Today’s daily create was an interesting take on the solar moon eclipse. We had to select words and then black out the rest of the test so that only the words that we picked would show through and as a result, I came up with the following image. I did not really have a plan as to why I chose the the words that I chose but at the end of the day it ended up looking pretty cool and it was interesting to see what kinds of words I chose and if they relate to one another.

Daily Create – 4/7/2024

So, today’s daily create was to find an image that should not move and make it move, however, I was not entirely sure how to go about doing this so I instead I found this cool image of the statue in Brazil, that is dancing and hoola-hooping. I enjoyed this image because it was really humorous to look at and did its job of making sure that something like this should never actually be created. I really liked the image and I enjoyed looking at all the other options.

Daily Create – 4/5/2024

Today we had to create a remix of a trading card of someone, and so I chose to do mine on Rafa Nadal, a Spanish professional tennis player. He is known as one of the most hard-working, humble, and impactful guys in the world of tennis and so I chose to give him exactly those attributes or attacks. Each one represents one of best qualities and they all come together to make one whole training card, or one whole person. He is very respected and always will be.

DS106 Rad.io Shows:

Wow, Week 11 Already Over?!?!

This week was probably one of the lightest weeks so far in terms of work that needed to be completed and it was great because this week was supposed to be one of my busy weeks and it was nice to see that I would not have to worry as much about having enough time to get everything done for this class. One of the assignments we had to do this week was write a blog post about our experiences listening to another radio show on the DS106 station. That post is located here and contained a detailed analysis of the Logic Pod radio show and the themes that were discussed in the video along with my thoughts on the production and the final product of the radio show. Next, we had to create a post that talked about our plan for the video project that we will be working on next week. That post can be found at this link and once again contains a detailed analysis of the project and what my plan is for the project along with how my video might look like when it is all said and done. I enjoyed this assignment because it was cool to try and think about and decide what I could do for a video project and how I could make it unique and interesting and enjoyable to watch. Following that, I made sure to do my daily creates this week as well, and we were required to do three this week. Start on Friday with Daily Create #1, which required us to associate our lest favorite household chore to a game that might help us complete the chore faster. Therefore, I chose cleaning my room and associated it to a race and timing myself to see if I could beat my previous time each time I had to clean my room. Then on Saturday, I did Daily Create #2, which had generate a picture of us reincarnated as a plant and so I chose to reincarnate myself as a carrot plant for no other reason than the fact that it looked the best. I really like the way it turned out so I went with that one. Finally, Daily Create #3 was completed on Sunday, in which we were required to write a one-lined proverb onto a piece of porcelain tile and you can view that at the link above. Last but not least, I left some time to do some commenting to round out the week.

I did not encounter too many issues this week when completing my assignments. I thought things went pretty smoothly this week and I enjoyed doing all of the assignments. From this week, I would say that listening to the different radio shows was my favorite. This is because I found it very enjoyable to listen to all the hard work that others had put into to create their radio shows and listen to how it turned out. Once again, I did not encounter any issues this week for any of the assignments.

I definitely think that I accomplished all of the requirements for the assignments for this week and I think I did them to the best of my ability. Like stated before, my favorite assignment was listening to the radio show. I would not do anything differently for the work that I did this week as it was completed with effort, time, and creativeness. I believe that there are no larger issues at hand with my work. I think that the assignments were done properly and with effort. I do not have any further questions at this time for the class. One thing that I think I did well this week was to stay on top of my work for this class since I was in a busy week this week and I was happy with how I managed to work and get things done.

Video Project Idea!

The final assignment that we needed to complete this week was to create a post that talked about an idea that we had for the video project that would be completed over the course of the next two weeks. This project was offered as an independent assignment or a group assignment, and I chose to work with another course character, Julius Lawrence. For this project, we decided to do something along the lines of showing off the field of Artificial Intelligence and how it affects various parts of the world and how it can be used for more good than bad. The short, 2-minute video would be titled “AI Adventures: Exploring the Future,” and it would focus on how AI is used differently in different aspects of life and how it affects those various sectors in real life. Since the video only needs to be 2 minutes long, each of the sections of the video will not be too long, but long enough to get the main point of that section across to the viewers.

Moving onto what will be featured in the video, here, I will talk about the different sections of the video and what will be shown in each of the different sections as well as how long these sections will last.

Outline

Introduction (0:00-0:15) – This section with be the start of the video and will start with an animation of a futuristic cityscape and will set the tone for the exploration of AI. In this section, there will be text displayed that will introduce the two main course character and their journey through showing everyone the field of AI and its positive implication in the world.

Smart Home (0:15-0:45) – In this section, Xander and Julius will enter a smart home and show off all the different technologies in the household and how AI helps to power them. For example, the text on the screen will talk about the thermostats, visual assistants, and security systems so that they can show off how AI has intertwined itself into all of these fields. It will also show how these systems are used by using AI and how they make completing tasks much easier.

Healthcare (0:45-1:15) – In this section, Xander and Julius will assess the impact of AI in the healthcare sector. The characters then move into a hospital-like setting and they start by showing off the computers that are analyzing medical data, diagnosing illnesses based on the doctor input, and just assisting healthcare professionals. They show off all of these things while there is text on screen that is helping to explain what is going on and how AI is impacting the world of healthcare.

Entertainment (1:15-1:45) – In this third and final section of the video, the characters will find themselves in an entertainment complex that is filled with various AI-led experiences and attractions. In other words, Xander and Julius will point out how virtual reality games, AI-generated art, and personalized entertainment recommendations are fully and completely led by the impacts that AI can have along with how they make these subfields in the entertainment industry better and more enjoyable for everyone involved. Like the other sections, there will be text on screen that will explain everything as the visuals are playing in the background.

Conclusion (1:45-2:00) – This is the last part of the video and where the video will have its conclusion. There will be a small speech-type saying from each of the characters and their experiences within their journey through the world of AI and what their thoughts are on the field and how it will progress. Finally, there will be a final message laid out on the screen, most likely with a black background, that will be on screen for a couple seconds that the viewer will see as their last couple frames for the video. This will ensure that something is staying with the viewer and will force them to think about it even after watching the video. Maybe it will even bring more people to the video later on.

This is the outline that we have come up with and plan on making our video around. If anyone has any ideas we could add to this, feel free to let me know in the comments.

Radio Show Listening Experience!

One of the assignments that we had to do this week was to listen to other radio shows and the one that I chose to listen to was from the Logic Pod and it talked a lot about the malicious potential of AI and the speakers all were debating whether AI should be kept in check when it comes to weapons and if AI should have their own sovereignty. The show really focused on bringing awareness to the field of AI and how there should more discussion regarding making AI more human-like. Like stated before, one of the big topics of the show was to talk about if AI should have their own cities, countries, etc. where all AI-related individuals would live and prosper. From what I could understand, all but one of the podcasters were on board for this and most of them sided with AI being used in weaponry and did not even consider the risks of it. One of the guest speakers argued that AI should be used for good, however, the other two wanted to weaponize AI and use it for military tactics and strategies. The shows also talked about AI rights and what rights should and should not be given to artificially intelligent agents. This was an interesting part of the conversation because the perspectives could not be more different from each other, one person said one thing and the other guest speaker would disagree and so the conversation would not really go anywhere but it was definitely still worth having because the listeners got to hear the perspectives of all the speakers and people involved in the show.

Now, moving onto the radio show itself. I enjoyed listening to the show and I think it was very well put together and sounded very thought-out and done with time and effort. I thought the background music for the show was great and the transitions were really smooth. Whether it was going out of a segment and into a bumper or commercials, the background music was well-placed and well-times which made the entire show more enjoyable to listen to and made the show that much better sounding. Also, some of the voices seemed to be Ai generated and that was something that my group did as well with one of our speakers and I thought that was cool to see. It made the show sound better because it was enjoyable to listen to a different voice other than just multiple human voices. Also, in terms of the script, the lines for each of the speaker were all well-written and did not seem forced or overly-complex. I think the script was well-written and it made the show better because everything was clearly talked about and everything was also clearly spoken. This made it much easier to understand everything being said in the podcast. I like the show structure of asking questions and getting different answers and viewpoints because it allowed everyone to speak their minds and provide input on the conversation. I think the questions and answers were all relevant. I definitely think the show had a conversation similar to the conversations that we are having in the real world now and ones that will be continued to be discussed as time goes on. I really liked this as a podcast idea and I think this was executed really well. One thing I really liked was how one of the guests just left because they were sort of creeped out by the viewpoints of the other guests, that added some humor and I appreciated that. I like the suspenseful music at the end which provided an ominous feeling to it when Robin was signing off. It seemed like no one really agreed on anything and everyone went their separate ways and I thought that was a really cool ending to the show. The background music during this phase was well chosen and perfect for the setting and the lines that were being spoken.

Daily Create – 3/31/2024

Today’s daily create was fairly simple and just required us to write a one-line wise proverb on a ceramic tile and show it off. So, for the proverb that I chose, i decided to go with a classic. I went with “The early bird gets the worm.” I liked this one because I usually wake up pretty early in the morning and always like to have somewhat productive mornings and so I think it fits well into my lifestyle and I enjoy the saying overall.

Daily Create – 3/30/2024

Today’s daily create required us to create a picture of us reincarnated as a plant and so I chose to do a carrot plant because it was the funniest out of all the different images that I generated. There is not really reason as to why I only chose the carrot plant but as you can see from the picture below, it is a humorous picture to look at. By that specific reason, I chose to use this picture and I am happy with how the picture turned out and think it is a good fit for today’s prompt. Let me know what you guys think.
