This week was more challenging than the last, first thing was first I had to revise my goals I made at the beginning of this course Revisit Goals. I made sure to include I want to get better with iMovie and with audio. Then we had to do 2 daily creates which where very fun and easy. Daily Create Week 6 We then had too create 3 visual assignments from the assignment bank. I decided to do Sport Highlights, Do the Walk of Life, TikTok of your Pet. A lot of these assignments were done on iMovie which I was happy about because I wanted to get more familiar with it. We also had to comment on others peoples websites and vote again. This week although harder than the last still was very manageable to do. My favorite assignment was the TikTok of your Pet because my girlfriends dog is pretty funny! All in all this week was very fun and I am looking forward to next week.

Sport Highlights
For this assignment we had to compile some sports highlights. All I had since I got my new computer is my very old soccer highlights which are not very good but I still wanted to give it a shot in iMovie. In order to fulfill the requirements I chose a song I feel like my course character would listen to while driving around. I went into iMovie and saw I had started on one a long time ago and chose to add a couple more clips of me playing soccer. Overall this assignment was very fun and not too hard.
Do the Walk of Life
For this assignment we had to take a ending scene from a movie and put music over it to mean something else. For me I chose a clip from the movie that my course character is based off of. I also took some tech noir themed music to fulfill the assignment requirements as well. This assignment was pretty easy and I got to use IMovie more because I am pretty bad at it. I clipped the end scene and found some free audio which I felt sounded like tech noir theme and I put them together. All in all a very fun assignment.
TikTok of your Pet
For this assignment I had to record a Tiktok of my pets, sadly my dogs are back in my hometown so I had to record one of my girlfriends dog. I went on Tiktok and searched pets and a audio popped up of funny sounds that your pets can react too. This assignment was pretty easy and fun because some sounds really make your pets react.

Revisit Goals
As I continue with DS106, great progress has been made toward my objectives which include broadening my technology understanding, creating a more diverse digital identity and pushing myself creatively across multiple media types. The tech noir concept has shaped some of my work such as the video essay for instance but then there are projects that center more on personal storytelling and creative expression. As I reflect on how far I have come in this journey, let me share what I have experienced so far.
One target I had from the start was to gain more knowledge about different kinds of technology, with a special interest in WordPress. In this area, I have done well getting closer to altering my WordPress site and making my website custom to me. But most importantly, thanks to many completed creative assignments, my grasp on audio and video technologies has grown significantly.
For instance, in my video essay, I concentrated on examining the arrangement of shots and lighting in a show. Not only did this need technical comprehension of filming methods but also an extensive exploration on how these tactics amplify narrative. This task assisted me in investigating how technology molds story and mood; something that links to the tech noir theme I was researching in that workpiece. It’s evident to me now that my grasp of media creation techniques has been enhanced as a consequence. Video Essay
Increasing my online presence not just only via photos was another important aim for me. This has been one of the nicer parts of the course up to now, especially through audio projects I have completed. For example, with my Sound Effect Story about what I do in mornings, it enabled me try creating a story entirely using sounds. I didn’t apply a tech noir perspective for this task, instead I concentrated on capturing the feeling of my morning by using sound effects like the alarm clock’s chime and also describing about daily routines.
In the same type of the assignment, a task called Sound Track to Your Life was another assignment. It let me interact with audio in personal storytelling situation. I selected songs that symbolize varied stages of my mood. These assignments were instrumental to develop my digital identity using sound for narrating my tale and showing who I am better than photos.
When I reflect on my assignments, I am sure that I have pushed myself by trying out different media formats. For the audio storybook, it needed me to consider sound in a more creative way using environmental sounds, storytelling and timing to engage the listener deeply. Likewise, when creating my life’s playlist , this made me think about how sound can illustrate one’s self-identity and emotions.
I think I have gotten better in things like sound editing and adding layers of effects, but more practice is needed for me with audio editing software to make smoother transitions and improve the total quality of production.
When I think about the upcoming part of our course, my aim is to keep improving my sound skills. In particular, I will concentrate on getting better at editing and layering sounds so as to create experiences that are more complex and engaging. As I have already gained experience with personal storytelling via the Sound Effect Story, now my next goal is to blend elements of tech noir in upcoming projects, especially by using sound for invoking futuristic atmospheres. I also want to get better at using IMovie due to my Video Essay not having any sound on the clip itself.
I still want to improve a lot within the course though because my completed assignments seem a little nobody. Never the less with the video essays or audio storytelling, I drove myself to formulate engaging content and test different forms of media too. While tech noir isn’t a main theme in all my assignments I want to incorporate it more within my website assignments so that people that view my page know what the theme of the class is. I am excited to keep learning in this class and to get better at using different types of technologies

Weekly Summary 5
This week was all about putting our film analysis skills to the test videoessay! We took a deep dive into filmmaking techniques by looking at a Black Mirror Scene, I personally chose the starting scenes which I felt to be more technique heavy. I chose to use iMovie for this project, and while I ran into some technical difficulties getting everything to work smoothly, it was a great learning experience. I gained a much better understanding of how editing, cinematography, and IMovie work.
On top of that, we also had to complete two Daily Create Week 5, which were a fun and easy break from the heavier video work. I created a fictional story and a poem to complete this weeks daily creates. Overall, this week was a mix of challenges and creativity, but it really helped solidify what we’ve been learning about film techniques. Looking forward to what’s next!

Video Essay
This assignment was fun, but one of the more challenging assignments. For me I could not get the sound on the video it self so all you can hear is my narration. I have a lot to learn when it comes to video essays. I chose the opening scene because it seemed to have a lot of hidden techniques to make the scene make you feel a certain way. Overall I did learn a lot from this, learning different techniques used in videos such as lighting, focus and shot angles. I started off screen recording the video posted on our home page to record the first scene. I watched the scene around 20 times to get a full understanding of what was happening and why it was. I tried my best to narrate over it, but since it was kind of a fast scene it was hard to get my words out before the next shot started. Having IMovie mute my screen record made one part of my Video Essay not as understandable as the rest. There is a part where the interrogator speaks so you can get a full understanding of what I was talking about, but sadly it was muted. Besides that hiccup Video Essays are pretty fun. Next time I will choose a longer scene so I am able to speak slower and not have to rush to get my words out before the next shot starts.
