This week was a little lighter on the small assignments and more heavily focused on the podcast. I started off this week like any other week by finishing the Daily Create Week 10. I then commented on some other peoples blogs and asked some questions too!. The next step was completing the radio show. I used Audacity to record my voice reading from my script about news reports in NOVA. This was a kinda of hard process because I had to figure out how to say things to come across as Jack Cross. Then next step of this process was going onto free sounds and getting some car noises to put in the recording to make it really come across as Jack Cross since he is a car guy. Once I finished my part of the podcast we all sent them to one of our most skilled group mates in Audacity. They slowly put it together bit by bit using the radio bumpers, commercials and parts to create out full radio show! The last part was writing my radio show progress report which was pretty easy. Radio Show Progress. All in all this week was very fun and it was cool to see our podcast come to life!

Radio Show Progress
In the second week of the radio show it was pretty easy as my group and I talked about what needed to be done by when. I started by finding interesting news articles in my area and started to think about what I should say and how I should say it. Once I recorded my 5 minute section I went into Free sounds and found sounds that would relate to my course character so it would seem as if Jack Cross was the news reporter. After my part of the section was completed the most skilled group member in Audacity started to slowly put them together and add in the radio bumpers and commercial’s, all in all we have made all the progress to end up completing the assignment
Weekly Summary 9
This week was a more busy week for me, but thankfully get everything done. I started off the week by getting my daily creates done Daily Create Week 9. I then finished up my blog post Radio Show Progess. These were the easier assignments so I made sure to saver them while I could. I then created a poster that would fit my part of the radio show Radio Show Design Project this was a little more challenging but still and overall fun assignment. The last assignments were audio assignments that actually helped me complete a part of my final project so it was 2 birds with one stone, I completed these using Audacity something I am familiar with. Week 9 Audio Assignment Commercial Week 9 Audio Assignment Bumper. These were pretty simple to complete since I have used it for part assignments. Lastly I did some commenting and reading on other peoples post. Overall a good week.
Week 9 Audio Assignment Commercial
For this assignment I had to create a Commercial for our final radio show project. I was able to make the commercial about anything so I chose something that I use MELATONIN. This was a fun little assignment because I got to practice my Audacity comprehension but also find fun sounds to make it sound like a commercial. I chose a jingle that I thought suited the sleepy theme and overlayed my voice on top. I turned down the original jingle so that it would not overpower my voice when speaking over it. Overall this was a fun assignment and helpful towards my final project as well.
Week 9 Audio Assignment Bumper
For this assignment I had to create a Radio Bumper for our final project. My course character did this radio bumper. Overall this radio bumper was easy because I have done them in the past using Audacity. I chose sounds that support my course character such as cars and car horns to really seem like Jack Cross is the one doing the bumper.
Radio Show Design Project

For my part of the radio show, this poster perfectly captures my character, Jack Cross, while tying into our overall theme of news reporters in different local areas.Jack isn’t a typical journalist he barely speaks, but his actions say it all. By day, he’s a skilled mechanic; by night, a getaway driver helping people escape danger. His ability to stay calm under pressure makes him the perfect reporter for high-stakes stories.
The poster blends his mysterious nature with a newsroom theme. The dark cityscape, sleek car, and microphone highlight his role, while the tagline, “Breaking News: Jack Cross Delivers the Truth, No Matter the Cost,” reinforces his no-nonsense approach.
This design reflects both Jack’s character and the suspenseful, action-packed tone of our radio show. Stay tuned this is one broadcast you won’t want to miss!
Radio Show Progess
This week, my group and I met on Zoom to discuss and brainstorm ideas for our podcast. During our meeting, we went through a variety of potential concepts, carefully considering which one would be the most engaging and enjoyable for both us and our audience. After a lot of discussion, we ultimately decided that our podcast would feature our characters as news reporters, delivering news updates from the fictional worlds or settings they are from. We felt that this idea would allow for creativity, humor, and an engaging storytelling format.
Once we settled on the concept, we moved on to organizing the workload. We made sure to divide the tasks evenly so that everyone had a clear role and responsibility in the project. Each group member was assigned specific duties, such as writing scripts, researching content, editing audio, and handling any necessary technical aspects. We also established a timeline to keep ourselves on track, making sure that everyone knew their deadlines and what was expected of them. Overall, the meeting was productive, and we left feeling confident and excited about bringing our podcast idea to life.
