I found these videos to be very interesting in the sense of the way he is describing audio as a way of storytelling. I feel that he was very well-spoken about the topics and a really fascinating guy to listen to! I also went in and asked Dr. Oblivion about what he thought about radio and his thoughts on what Abumrad means about making meaning and connection, and as a modern incarnation of an ancient art. He actually was the most helpful tool with learning more about radio and having a sense of connection! Here is what he had to say about the topic as well. I thought about how some sound can have a potential to give form to life there are many type of sound that are also forming by the help of echolocation and vibration. Sound can be like light speed sound, bubble sound, sound of being punch, smashing ,heat, air, etc.
It was hard to capture useful information in two minutes because I was really interested until it cut off and I wanted to ask Dr. Oblivion for more!
this week I has a busy time in the beginning with personal stuff so I read through the assignments on Monday and Tuesday as I did some daily creates between my free time. I really hunkered down with these assignments and honestly had a really enjoyable time with this week! I feel like I learned a lot about AI imaging and Color theory in marketing with movies and books! I think I enjoyed the amount of work we had as well because it wasn’t super overwhelming! I think I had a good time with AI imaging assignment, I think having a simple word like “cat” to “breed of cats” to “lynx point” to “cat having a tea party” and I got some pretty fun results. I wanted to use a cat for the theme because cats can be very detailed in many different ways, and they are cute! as you can see my roommates can in my 20 min photoblitz!
I also thought the photoblitz was fun and my friend Gracie also helped me out so it was fun to have a fun time with a friend with this assignment!
I really loved these videos, it really was engaging in a sense of being able to break down piece by piece and went to the professionals for help. I really found fascinating was the color schemes with all the movie posters in the Vanity Fair video! When he was showing a ton next to each other it was shocking to see how similar they all truly are. After watching that video I looked up if all of the Disney Princess’s movie and it is cool to look at because it seems to pair the colors from the dress and their hair to the background. for Example, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty have pink dresses and blonde hair and both of the backgrounds are blue and green.
With the Vox video I also really loved because Stranger Things is one of my favorite shows to watch just because it is such a time jump to a time I wasn’t born in but my mom was growing up around that time and its cool to watch a thriller and also learn what my mom grew up with. I think it was really awesome with the typography pair with that they had a vision with and how they executed it to the wonderful masterpiece it is! They used book covers they loved in their time to make it happen but with the video with the book cover artist, it was cool to see how creative he is and how to pair the story to the cover without using too much negative space with the letters. I am not so much a book fan myself so I normally don’t pay attention to book covers because they do have they same kind of style in my opinion.
I think these were really cool ways to break down a graphic design for a movie, book, or show!

For this image, I believe it is my worst because I had asked the AI bot for a cat having a tea party but the cat looks a little bit weird and I also have no clue what animal is next to the lady.

This cat looks the most like my cat which was really impressive to me! I really love the accuracy that it has! I know I will show my cat in future assignments so you guys will be able to compare if you keep up with me!
Reflection: Where do you perceive AI image generation as a threat to artists?
I feel like the accuracy in this image can be a threat to some artist because of the details in it. the little hair strokes and eye crusties is what I think is accurate in art.

I saw we only had to three daily creates for this week but I did the coloring page one and i made an edit of the artist collage, not sure if that was the daily create for 1/30 but that is how I interpreted it! and for my Gif I us to work at a bread bakery and this is how I felt every Sunday morning!

this was actually pretty fun to do, I had my friend Gracie over while we were doing school work so I hope you guys enjoy her excellent disappointed face! I also took a pic of my feet with socks (sorry not exposing those for free) and then i went to find the brightest colored pillow I could find. Then of course I had to find my fancy rocks that I’ve found! and two of them are crystals from the candle that is my favorite smell. when I took the picture of the candle I also took a picture outside of the tree I saw but I made sure to zoom in for no human artifacts!

Week two for me was a very hard start to the semester. As a senior, college never seems to get easier, I constantly think that my classes will become less stressful and more fun and in my interest. But this week did seem like a lot to me, I am not sure if I just have to get used to the class but I have never been so confused in my time here at UMW. Well, as I have started my final semester, I have already had issues with Mastodon and getting logged in which was extremely stressful since I had to do the daily creates and I couldn’t log in till Wednesday. So unfortunately, I did miss two of the daily creates but I hope to never miss another one!
I will be adding my Daily Creates to my blog for everyone to see! again, I am dearly sorry for not being able to do two of them!

my review on Free Guy I said “for one of my AI films I had watched for week one of my class was “Fall Guy”. I had always gotten told I would love that movie because of my interest in AI and one of my favorite actors is in it, Joe Keery! I think it was such a great film and they added just the right amount of humor of AI as well as the dark side of it. I also loved Ryan Reynolds and how he captured the non emotional AI game into having feeings and wanting to explore more to help his friend. I think it is a lighthearted way to show that AI can develop feelings and maybe some could be nice and be helpful but you never know what could happen.”

Hello Everyone! My name is Reese Kubricki and I am a senior majoring in Communication and Digital Studies at the University of Mary Washington! I am so excited to be taking Digital Storytelling this semester and it ends up being my last semester at UMW. With that being said, this blog will be dedicated to what I learn in my class!
Week one:
for one of my AI films I had watched for week one of my class was “Fall Guy”. I had always gotten told I would love that movie because of my interest in AI and one of my favorite actors is in it, Joe Keery! I think it was such a great film and they added just the right amount of humor of AI as well as the dark side of it. With all that being said, I want to explore more into the world of Digital Storytelling. I really want to work hard in this class. I have been dying to take this class since freshman yeah but I just had been holding off and I thought now is my time to shine! I also will be persuing a masters degree and one of my courses is Digital Storytelling! why not get ahead while I can! My goal is to really take time and care into my work, review it, edit it, and work with other peer in order for me to grow. I feel like this is a very important class to me because I would love to do anything involving digital storytelling as a career.
So far it has been a rough start for the week! I was having a lot of technical difficulties trying to create this domain and using WordPress. I will have to say I have tried to avoid using WordPress my entire college courses because I personally think there is no room for creativity, it just makes me feel trapped and lost in a way. I thought it would be a little easier navigating through everything but my boyfriend took this class and he was a huge help so I am really grateful he was the 4th and final help to get me started! Now that he has helped me understand and navigate where everything is, I feel a lot better but still may hit a few bumps along this ride.
