Week of 3/11

This week was a light reintroduction back to class work off of spring break. I only had one big assignment because we are forming groups for our big upcoming project that I am so excited about! The assignment that we did this week was to explore an Ai tool and create a proposal for Aggressive technology. This was a little hard because I don’t think that Marie would willingly do this but alas I made it happen. I felt as though exploring the Ai suggests tool that I chose was easy. It was a straight forward application and it had many different tools and templates to use. I didn’t create separate blog posts for my daily creates this week because I was sick and busy, but they will be back next week. I wish that there was more to say about this week but this is it!

Behind the creation: This assignment was especially hard because Marie wouldn’t willingly put herself in this position to put other workers’ lives on the line. But it is what needs to happen to help those close to her. Hopefully, this keeps aggressive technologies off her back for some time until she can find another solution that doesn’t harm others. I did want to give this assignment something short and sweet like it’s not something that she put her all in because she is against the corporation as a whole. I hope it isn’t too short.

Behind the creation: I decided for this daily create to do something classic like a royal ball. The royal balls always seem to attract visitors of the majestic variety.

Behind the creation: For this, I created a coloring page from one of the photos on my insporation board for this year.
Behind the creation: This daily create asked us what we couldn’t go a day without and why. I thought about it and my phone is something that I could not go a day without currently. I know that I can go a day without it but it is the inanimate object I am attached to the most. It helps me communicate and also it keeps me entertained, so I often use it.

Aggressive proposal

Marie is proposing an alternative route for aggressive technologies to pursue so that they can leave her company alone. She proposes the site Ai suggests. Ai suggests is a website that does a lot. From suggesting nutritional advice to writing Instagram captions, and even marketing, Ai suggests does it all. For this example, I am showing how Ai suggest can write a tweet for you. This is useful for business accounts and keeping viewers interactions up.

For this, I found the Tweet template and then input a starting idea.

Final product: “Thanks to Ai-suggests, my business has seen a significant increase in efficiency and productivity. The accuracy and speed of its suggestions have greatly improved our decision-making process. Highly recommend it to any business looking to stay ahead in the market! #AiSuggests #BusinessBoost”

This application shows versatility in not only what it can do for you but in how you say it! No more waiting for your writers to get over a block and more getting to what matters most, bringing in more customers.

Week of 2/26

This week was all about putting everything together. Over the last couple of week’s we have developed both technical and creative skills to give depth to our characters through our work. This week came easier than the previous weeks because of thetrails and tribulations I experienced before now. It was great being able to put together all of these skills and create some cool assignments. I even find that I am solving issues faster as you will see in the Behind the Creation portion of WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED. I am proud of all the work that I did this week and I hope you will enjoy it.

Behind the creation: After I brainstormed I realized that you can get an Ai to build a prompt to give you an outside idea of how your video can look. For this I used this free resource: https://boords.com/ai-script-generator and wrote something along the lines of political video aimed at taking down aggressive technologies because they use loopholes in company contracts to leave millions jobless to put in place Ai.I used the script that boords created to create another script for my AI voice to read off of for my video and put it into narakeet (another free resource): https://www.narakeet.com/create/ai-voice-generator.htmlI also used the script to look up stock videos for my PSA on Flexclip another partially free resource. Note: If you run out of free stock videos to add, search for a video that you want in the search box and just right-click and save as. Then you can put a blank black box scene to your video and then replace that with the video that you saved! I ran into that problem but it was quickly solved! https://www.flexclip.com/editor/I then compiled all my videos to the audio of the AI and found a suspenseful track to add to give it a propaganda feel. Also, the text added at the end was purposefully red to give an intense and serious feeling to the video and appeal to the viewers’ emotions along with the clips. I then exported the clip with the free option to export with the watermark logo.

Behind the creation: Marie is obviously against AI and aggressive technologies so she often makes direct memes from an account under her pseudonym. This is one of them, you may also occasionally see propaganda videos on that account that she makes after the kids go to bed. She uses a burner account and is super careful to not give any leads back to her as it may affect her livelihood. I made this using a Free meme generator and a popular meme background.

Behind the creation: Being able to step into the shoes of Marie for a little through third person was very fun, I wish that there were other videos to respond to but I understand that I move fast with DS106 work. I will be looking forward to seeing the other PSA videos over the next couple of days and seeing how others respond to them. I like seeing how everyones skills that we learned in the last couple of weeks really came together to be able to create PSA videos that seem somewhat realistic.

Behind the creation: For this, I decided to think about my absolute favorite castle Hogwarts. We were asked what castle we would rather visit and our experience. So obviously I had to say Hogwarts because what other castle outside of Rapunzles is as iconic? I said that I would be mystified by the magic and knowledge during my visit.

Behind the creation: I tried doing a portion of the ds106 logo on PhotoFunia but it didn’t all fit I think this gave it a unique look! This daily create was fun and short!

Public Service Announcement!

This assignment asks us to react to the other course characters’ PSA videos as our course character. There aren’t a lot of PSAs done at this time but it seems like the ideas are equal with 2 being against Aggressive technologies and 2 being for Aggressive technologies. Marie frequently looks at news regarding Aggressive technologies on her burner account and now burner laptop because Aggressive technologies is now monitoring all of her known devices and adding AI to “help her be more productive and job orientated.” While doing her nightly research she found a couple of PSA videos related to aggressive technologies and decides to bring attention to them on her page.

The first one she responded to was this one: This PSA aligns with her views and even though she has a grudge against Aggressive technologies, she is proud of Xander for stepping up and speaking out as an inside whistle-blower. She is going to bring awareness to his movement but she cannot go to any events because it puts her livelihood at risk. She looks forward to the new information brought forward by him and hopes that his movement picks up momentum fast.

The next one She saw was this one, which made her livid. This makes AI seem like it is all good and nothing is bad, while thousands are being ruthlessly laid off for its gain in popularity. What are the workers who got laid off going to do with a robot friend who doesn’t pay bills? They might not even be able to afford a robot friend and could be on the streets next week.

Marie is becoming distressed by the amount of propaganda supporting the AI scene at Aggressive Technologies, so she has decided to comment on one last PSA video for now. This one is blatantly telling the public that AI is good for them and that they should trust AI because it is the future. When you can’t think, AI will? What about the original thoughts that we as humans have and the ability to quickly adapt to situations in real life, AI cannot do that even with thousands of programs constantly coding it. Ai has no human touch, yet they are promoting it as the future while you lay off human workers for no good reason other than making room for AI and cuts to further the company.

This video was fun to do and took me a little less time than the other video assignments I did. I have learned a couple of tricks since the last post that I did. Here is how I made the PSA video:
