This week one of our task was to create a propaganda poster as well as how it relates to the character. I created my poster in Canva, and its main point is to support local artist. Layla is a artist person and it’s also what she does for work. She loves to create new things and one of her favorite forms of art is painting. Layla isn’t about negativity so from her standpoint she wanted this poster to highlight that artist need to be supported and to stand with them. Stand with them meaning recognize there work, understand the amount of time and effort they put into pieces, and when using the word art. Don’t tie that into something that a computer did but what a person takes time to create themselves. The main part of this poster is the hand holding the paintbrush at the very top. Thats Laylas main point and the focal point of this piece.

Thats a wrap on week six! The workload was lighter this week and I really enjoyed the video assignments and being able to incorporate my course character further expanding upon who she is. I created all my videos in Canva and learning about all the distinct functions and ways you can create things in their platform. Using their video function is easy and adds audio to the video. One thing I will point out is I have no idea the number of different apps and resources there were out there for people to create content. My basic understanding of content creating was what I knew social media influencers used and obviously for movie productions and commercials high tech stuff is used. The past few weeks it has been enjoyable learning about the audio and video apps and tools that are out there to create digital media. One does not must make a movie or try and create something for a show if they want to utilize these platforms. In the beginning its a lot to learn, especially with the number of tutorials you must watch, and the number of platforms is so different, but I appreciate how user friendly most of them are and it has been nice doing work that lets you tap into being creative. For the last video assignment, I included my course character because I wanted to continue working on her personality. Which brings me to this assignment. The instructions were to create a clip of images or things that would describe your characters personality, so I went straight to Canva to create a video that best includes images that represent who she is and I also included things that she likes as well. Take a guess at what those personality traits are based on some of the images below!

What are Laylas thoughts on Aggressive Technologies you all are wondering. Shes honestly still trying to gather what her thoughts are. She does not have an exact word for her thoughts on the company and the work they are doing with Aggressive Technologies. Layla is an artist herself and is someone that would rather draw with her sketch pad and paper than on a tablet and pencil. Layla is not someone that likes to overindulge in technology because she likes to be fully present and aware. Layla notes that she appreciates technological advancements, and she appreciates the fun and what AI has to offer as an artist herself that works incredibly hard at the pieces, she puts put her only concern was AI artist and their work. She needs to think further and continue to learn more about the company before her full opinion can be developed. Thats just how Layla likes to form her opinions on things.  

Daily crate 02/21/24

Today’s daily crate was to create a snow globe! We had the option of either downloading the template they provided or creating one yourself. I decided to create one myself and drafted it up in Canva. I started with a blank image and wanted to make something that was girly and pink. There’s so much you can do in Canva and a variety of different images, texts, backgrounds, and so much more you can chose from when you’re when working on a design. The platform itself is pretty easy to utilize and its something that you really can put your own creative spin on which is the main reason why I like using the platform. Why the face?

This man is making this face not because of something that he’s listening to. In face there’s nothing playing in his headphones right now. He looks like that because there’s actually a friend that’s sitting across from him cracking joke while he is trying to enjoy his afternoon tea and leisure time.

For the video assignments I decided to do a what I eat in a day and what a typical day looks like for me but with my course character. For those of you who have been keeping up with my blog I worked on the video in Canva! I have really enjoyed creating on this platform and I found that creating the video itself was really easy. My course character Layla is someone that’s extremely artistic and you will often find her with her head in a book when Shes not creating. She is someone that likes to things behind the scenes and let her work shine and speak for itself. With that being said Laylas AI voice introduces the video and then the videos play on with what she eats in a day and then what her day plays out. The audio in the background is the type of background music that she plays when she is working on her manga. I hope you enjoy my clips.

This week the workload was a lot shorter compared to other weeks, but I will say the assignment was a bit more time consuming than I thought it would be. I thought audio was a bit hard but this week I wasn’t particularly thrilled about diving into the video portion of things. Majority of that is because it’s very new to me and I had no idea what I was doing but I completed the assignment, and I am happy with it overall. I also enjoyed being able to reflect on what my goals are. I said in my first week that the biggest thing I wanted to accomplish was to be more creative and I think I have been able to accomplish that thus far. The prompt for the daily crate was about compliments but it wouldn’t load for me. I created this image in Canva.

For this assignment, I chose to pick a scene from the Marvel Avengers franchise. It was a fight scene between the Hulk vs Hulk buster. I’m a marvel fan and wanted to pick something with one of my favorite characters. There’s really a lot going on within the scene itself which I think highlights the scene really well. This fight is more than an action sequenced fight with well-done CGI. There’s a deeper meaning within the fight scene in itself which I go over in the clip.
