The daily crate today was to create a trading card. Check out what I created below!

For the daily crate for 4/3 we were tasked with showing and telling something that made me smile. Today was super busy per usual but there were a lot of things that made me smile. I consider myself to be a happy and positive person, so it was hard trying to pick one thing that made me smile. Call me basic but I think one of the things that made me smile a lot was all of the flowers blooming outside. I appreciate the beauty and the slowness of being able to stop and look at a newly bloomed flower. I created a design in Canva of the types of flowers that I have seen lately.

For today’s daily crate it was to look up DS106 and pick the funniest image. I used the search engine Flickr and typed in ds106 this image may not be the funniest, but this is the one that I liked the most.

I first want to say that the radio show done by Aggressive technologies was really well done. One would think this is a actual interview being conducted with the thought provoking questions and the well-expressed answers. I like how the voices for the response to the questions sound like something straight form a AI film and the way the questions were answered painted “Aggressive technologies” as something that’s actually kind of scary and indeed are involved in sketchy things. Some of the way the questions were answered it was very script like and cultish. When they used words like “sanctuary” and “right path” just gives cult vibes. I also found some of the responses very funny I appreciate that the interview is on a serios note but there are hints of humor in the show. I like the way the show was edited and how the background music gave a ere Ish vibe as well. I like the doorbell ring before the show cut too commercial too. The very end of the show when they closed with how “trustworthy” they are and then finished it off with a commercial was really well done. Overall, I think the show was really put together and I enjoyed listening to it.

One of this week’s assignments is to lay out a plan for out final viedo projects. As of right now, I know I want the viedo to be animated and I’m thinking of either using the platform Canva or adobe as they both have animation features, I have to review both platforms more before I make my decision. The overall theme of my viedo is going to be about the day in the life of a artist and what goes into an artist making their artwork and then it cuts to aggressive technologies version of art which is essentially just typing into a computer and asking for generated art. I want the animated viedo to capture the true differences between the work that artist does compare to what the aggressive technologies deems as art. Since its going to be an animated clip I want it to have fun elements because the point of the clip is to not bash AI but to highlight the efforts of artist. I don’t exactly know the duration or length of the viedo just yet as of right now I think I want the viedo to start with an artist in there studio working on a current piece and some sort of close up of a clock spinning to highlight how long it takes then the next clip with be of an employee of Aggressive technologies creating a piece of work on the computer and taking less than a few seconds. The last clip will be a question asking, “Which one do you think is really art?”

This week was a pretty light week in terms of the workload but actually getting the recording done was more time consuming than I thought it would be. My group was incredibly great to work with and we all pulled together to get our parts done and everyone did such a great job. It’s so cool how everything came together, and it really sounds like a radio show. I enjoyed listening to everyone’s reviews of their chosen movie and how they decided to edit and add there effects. I definitely appreciate Lelia for editing it all together she did such a great job with the final edit.

In terms of this week’s workload, it was fairly light. This week was all about getting our radio show together with all of the bits and pieces we are working on. We decided to focus on Marvel movies with the focus on the evolution of Spiderman and the first Marvel movie. So far, we have made great progress when getting each of our sections together and I think everyone’s parts are sounding really good. As for me I did my best with my portion I am someone that typically talks fast so that was something I noticed when I went back and was editing, so please keep that in mind when listing! The point of my portion of the review was giving Laylas perspective of how she feels about Spiderman, and his character compared to the others. Since I was giving a review and feedback, I found I didn’t want to take away from that and add a bunch of different sound effects and things that effected my voice, so I went with a few sounds from freesounds.com and picked a few sounds throughout my recording that I think paired well with the vibe of the review/movie. The last thing my group needs to do is piece it all together and I think it should come together pretty well.

This week was the start of planning our assigned radio project. We came up with the concept of the show and title and I am excited with what we were able to come up. Everyone within my group is great to collaborate with and there’s a lot of cool ideas that are flowing so I am excited for when we start diving more into it. I’m happy with the bumper I was able to come up with overall and I feel like I need to work more on my commercial. I like the message I was portraying but I can add a bit more to it I believe. I also like what my groupmates were able to come up with as well. There’s a lot of creativity flowing so next week I know it’s going to be a lot of work but I’m excited for putting it all together.

Today’s daily crate was to come up with a design for a bike with a new feature. I used Adobe AI and prompted for a bike with a built in gps and this is what it came up with!
