ATconference

For the AT conference I used Canva and a app called LALAMU to create digital avatars and voice overs. I thought it would be fitting if the avatars were animated because I wanted them to look like something that Layla the manga artist would draw. The below video answers the second prompt about what I feel like the best thing I created was and goes over why I think Aggressive Technologies should support DS106 students. Check out the video below and I hope you enjoy it!

Writing this blog this semester has truly been fun and I really enjoyed being able to expand upon Layla the manga artist story as well as learn all about AI. I hope you all had a great semester and have an awesome summer.

Week 14 summary!

Wow its crazy that its already week 14 and we have one more week left. I feel like I was just getting the blog started and trying to figure out what I wanted my blog to be like. This week was all about the final project which was fun but also time consuming and I had my moments of frustration with it. I am happy overall with the fact that I was able to incorporate everything from this course and put it all together in one video. This week has been incredibly busy, and my project took a lot longer than I anticipated it to take. This course has been a great creative outlet, and I honestly can say I have learned a lot about AI and so much about what it can offer us and its been really cool being able to explore new platforms and use new forms of media. It’s also been really cool being able to see creativity in my fellow students and how out interpretations of things are so different. All in all, it’s been a busy week and I’m happy with how my final project ultimately came out. Check it out below!

Final project!

As to be expected this project was incredibly time consuming and it took me longer than I thought it would to complete. The audio part of the project it what was taking me the longest. It took me multiple edits and playbacks to get everything to sync up the way that I wanted it to but overall, I am happy with the final outcome. I think I was able to incorporate everything that we have learned so far. I made a video that uses AI voice overs, music, video clips, and text. As you watch my video you will notice the little robots that are narrating the story. I used different AI voices for each robot and they each have different expressions to represent the topic they are going over. Not all of the video is covered with AI voice because I wanted the focus to also be on the music and how I was able to sync up the tracks together for some portions of the video. I used Canva and was able to use some of the built-in apps to help with the AI voice overs and I selected some of the free audio tracks that were available that I thought would be best suited for the video. I took time with editing the images that I chose as well as adding animations to the words and robots as well. Overall, I am happy with how the final video came together I was able to express my creativity thought the clip and use what I have learned thus far in the class. I hope that whoever watches stops and really thinks about AI and what the benefits are as well as what the cons are. Happy watching!

Final project outline

For my final project I will be doing a video on the pros and cons of AI and will be taking video clips and audio voiceovers to put it together. The overall outline will be

Pros-

AI is a helpful tool and resource that can be used for students/ businesses professionals and anyone out there that needs a little extra help or inspiration.

Its efficient and good at saving time

It sparks creativity and inspiration

A image and text generator

Cons-

Ethical considerations- Is using AI in certain contexts right?

AI and Biases- AI can have biases based off of the data its trained on

Does AI respect privacy- The data comes from somewhere?

Is there transparency in AI- The data may arrive in under seconds but where is the data from and are people supposed to advertise their data as AI generated?

Will this effect jobs in the long run?

I will address the pros and cons in the video with clips and voice over. I am still a bit stuck on how its going to conclude. I am hoping once I start piecing everything together that I will be inspired by how the video should conclude.

Weekly Summary/ Final project

I spent this week really thinking about what I wanted my final project to be about and what it would look like. I figured out that I wanted to go with option number three and that encompasses what the pros and cons are of using AI in this course and what we can ultimately do with it and how it felt to use AI throughout this course. I am excited to go with this topic because before taking this course I didn’t have much knowledge on AI platforms and now that’s completely different since a lot of the course work, we have had to do was to include AI. In regard to the actual formatting and what I want for the project I know I want to create a final video because I have really enjoyed doing video work. I am going to continue using the platform canvas and I plan on using AI apps to help with voice over, animation, text, and character as well. I know the point of this post is to have a detailed outline of what the looks like but to be honest 9/10 Ill have a outline and then when I am actually creating, I end up going with something different because I’m just letting the creative juices flow which is one of the main goals I had with this course was to tap into my creativity. So I am going to do just that with the final project I am going to tap into my creativity when I create this video and I will be sure that it encompasses everything we have learned this far as well as making sure the topic is appropriately covered.

Week 12 done!

This week was a light week which was much needed. Our task was to finish our video project and complete three daily crates I was able to finish my video project and I am happy with how it turned out. I went with a different concept then my original idea because I thought it would be better to do something a bit different. It took me some time to piece everything together and get the visuals and audio synced up correctly but overall, it’s something that came out just the way I wanted it to. Applying everything that we have learned thus far with the audio and video projects have been really cool and I am excited to come up with my ideas for the final project.

Daily Crates for 04/09/24 & 04/11/24

I always like the daily crates where we can play around with colors and designs, I always like how they turn out!

For today’s daily crate we had to do something about what is true about the internet. My design was created in Canva of course and the messaging I decided to go with was everything you read on the internet isn’t true.

Video Project

The only thing we had to do this week outside of Daily Crates was out video project. I originally wanted to create a animated video and have a artist go through the motions of what goes into creating a art piece and then a scene cut to a lab where theirs nothing but computers and someone typing something into a computer at Aggressive Technolgies and calling it “art”. As I actually started the project, I had another idea that I wanted to go with. For one I decided to not go with the animated idea and stick to real visuals and instead of just focusing on one aspect of art I decided to use visuals the cover a wide spectrum of what is art. Such as painting, photography, potter, movies, and etc… I wanted to highlight the various forms of art and the span of different people doing them. The video then abruptly cuts to AI with a music change and its of Aggressive technologies and robots in the background making what they think is “art”. I am pretty happy with the final outcome of the video and happy I went with the idea change. I created the video in Canva and as usual its a platform that I think you can do a lot with and allows you to explore multiple different creative routes. I hope you enjoy!

Week 11 wrap up.

This week was pretty light which I honestly appreciated because last week was so busy as I also had to turn in other projects as well. It was nice having a lighter workload and plan for the upcoming project ahead. I am happy with my overall concept for the video I’m still trying to figure out what platform I want to create the video in because I want it to be animated. There seems to be a lot of options out there I plan on doing more research to figure out which platform is the right one for this video. I also liked listening to the other radio shows done by everyone. The ones I was able to tune into were really well done and put together. I’m sure everyone’s video assignments are also going to be great as well.

Until next week everyone!
