I would say with complete certainty that Dr. Ravioli is the best thing I have created in this course. Not only is he famous and very well-loved, but it has been so much fun creating him and expanding his lore and love for mopeds. One of the best things about crafting characters like Dr. Ravioli is the opportunity to exercise creativity and imagination. Through the process of creating Dr. Ravioli, I gained skills in character development, storytelling, and even digital art and design when visualizing him and making art and projects based on him. Creating characters often involves a degree of empathy and understanding, as you have to consider their motivations, personalities, and backgrounds. This can help cultivate empathy and perspective-taking skills, which are valuable both in digital studies and in life in general. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and I do plan on expanding the Dr. Ravioli market. Now I will give the Mic to Dr. Ravioli as he wants to talk about how Aggressive technologies should support this course.

Final Video Project
This final project was fun to complete. I knew I wanted to fit the theme of robot uprising, but I wasn’t sure how I would be able to do that without making a whole movie, so I decided a weather report being interrupted by a rogue Dr. Ravioli-made robot AI would be really cool. I also wanted to make sure my boy Dr. Rav had his share of screen time as he is my favorite creation of all time, and I will be getting an orange cat in the future and naming it after him. Dr. Ravioli is my muse and always will be. I used clip master to put it all together, and I really like the final product. I used a variation of Speechify and Natural Reader for the voices. I hope my video does not get attacked for this clip of a weather reporter I found on YouTube, but I finally figured out how to use Wav2Lip, and it is actually so much easier once you understand it. I tried to get Dr. Ravioli to mouth a few words and even edited a human mouth to his face, but Wav2Lip was not having it. I had to time each text-to-speech dialogue and the video it would match with to make sure it flowed nicely. This video took me all day to finalize and put together as I tried to use an assortment of different tools. I even used my favorite AI photo generator, Koala, for the robot and the amazing photo of Dr. Ravioli. I used Audacity for some of the audio clips and got all of my sound effects and music from Freesound. I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted my commercial to look like at the end, but I think it came out really well. I used AI to help come up with weird side effects and added that at the end. I also used AI to come up with a script for the robot since that seemed fitting. I think I learned a lot by completing this assignment, and I think this project showcases what I can accomplish with digital media. This took a lot of work but I am very happy with the outcome and will be sharing it with my friends and family. This course has been one of my favorites this semester, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to take it. I think the skills I learned will follow me through life. I hope everyone likes my video. I finished this all in one day, so I do not have a mid-week progress report, but I love how this came out.
Final Project Progress
For my final project I plan to include a robot uprising and my character Dr. Ravioli. My project will be video based and will start with a weather report on the news that is interrupted by rogue AI explaining to the world that they have achieved superior intelligence and will start to take over the human world. The AI interruption will then be interrupted by Dr. Ravioli and he will talk to the public and try to sooth everyone explaining that he has it under control and that no one should freak out. Dr. Ravioli leaves and puts the weather channel back on where the reporter will be surprised as cut to commercials. I am not completely sure how I will make the commercials but I already have the first half of this video taken care of. I am using a photo generated image of Dr. Ravioli and adding lips to him to see if Wav2Lip will work with his dialogue. I am very excited to see how this turns out and finish it.
Weekly Summary Week 12
This week I finished my video, I did end up changing my script but I think it came out really well. It can be accessed here. This was a really cool project and I had a lot of fun using Wav2Lip even thought it was being very stubborn.
I completed my daily creates for this week, I used new tools like Spiro Gyra which were really interesting to experiment with and I used canvas to make some other creations. My daily creates can be accessed here.
This was a good week! I spent a lot of time on my video and I am glad how it came out, I am excited to work on the final project.
Daily Creates Week 12
I completed three daily creates this week. This one I had to create s rough draft of a famous quote from a book, I had to make it look like it was worked on and had some editorial changes.
This one I really enjoyed, I had to find something true about the internet and I thought this was a really funny comic I found.
Lastly I created this blob using Spiro Gyra and I thought it was really cool to use and play with. I feel like my artwork is a lot different from everyone else, it was really fun to make this.
Final Video
Originally I was going to have a conversation between two people but I had a lot of trouble getting Wav2Lip to work so I changes my script and chose to do this instead. I really like how it came out even thought it took me absolutely ages to figure out Wav2Lip. It is a really interesting script and I think I understand it enough to most definitely not be able to do it again. I honestly have no clue how it worked but I did it and that’s all that matters. This was a fun project but I would say I mostly specialize in audio and not video. Still a really cool thing to mess around with. I used Speechify for the voices and free sound for the music and special effect sounds. I used Canvas to put this all together and I couldn’t download the video with ought having to but Canvas pro so I just screen recorded it (please ignore the water marks). I would say this took me about five hours, just because I couldn’t get Wav2Lip to work, I was very excited when it did end up working. I am excited to see what we have next week, and I am excited to work on my final project soon.
Weekly Summary Week 11
Radio Show listening was so much fun. Here is my blog post about it. I really enjoyed the ones I listened to and I really enjoyed going on air and answering questions.
here is the link to my Video Project Plan. I actually used AI to generate this script talking about AI so I think this is very interesting.
Finally, the three daily created I completed today were super fun, here is the link to the blog post. I really enjoyed using Adobe photoshop for the megamind one and I hope future daily creates will have more to do with Adobe photoshop.
Video Project Plan
For my video plan I choose to use a back and forth dialogue that I still have yet to find. I do have a clip from Frank Sinatra but its not exactly what I am looking for so I will keep searching. I plan to use wav2lip to make this video work. I am excited to see what happens further. Here is the script I plan on using.
Person 1: AI’s getting a bit too close for comfort lately, don’t you think?
Person 2: Definitely. The rapid advancements are both thrilling and worrisome.
Person 1: Exactly. What if we lose control or AI evolves beyond us?
Person 2: It’s a real concern. We need to ensure it aligns with our values and ethics.
Person 1: Agreed. We must tread carefully into this brave new world of AI.
Person 2: Let’s hope we find the right balance between progress and responsibility.
Daily Creates
I completed three daily creates this week and each one was great. I especially like the Megamind one.
Firstly, I had to find a picture of what made our day good that day and I chose to talk about getting a perfectly ripe banana from the dining hall at UMW. Loved that banana.
This one we had to look up Ds106 and find the weirdest image that pops up, this is what I could find. I mostly thought it was just really random but I also thought this photo was funny.
Lastly I made this rip off of the game Top Trumps and picked Megamind as my character as he is iconic and amazing.
Radio Show Listening
Listening to the radio shows was so much fun. I got my parents and four of my friends to log in to listen to my radio show on air and they even got to hear me speak and answer questions with Destiny. I really loved Logic Pod and it was really fun listening to it and comparing how my group made our radio show different to theirs. All of my friends and family was so excited to listen and it was so fun to experience this with them. I was only able to listen to the first group on Monday, mine (Ravioli Radio) and Logic Pod. They had such a unique radio show and I loved all of the commercials and radio bumpers. I think it was really nice to get to listen to others final projects.
